Good thought Flail - I'll bet you're right! If they're not interested in bringing Jeff back onscreen for a while, they may decide to go that way.

don't you think the most shocking soap murder mystery would be that the obvious suspect is actually the one who did it? Honestly? No. I think it would tank. There's no story then, the person accused is the person who did it, so what is left? No point going through this whole storyline finding clues when there no sense of danger in it (the real killer free) or misguided justice (an innocent person stuck in jail). Unless you are shown the murder scene from the start and its self defence or something, its not interesting in the least. Its just a long trial and you already know the outcome.

Unless there's an obvious suspect and then others who it COULD be, and they run through the whole investigation looking for clues only to find out later that it actually WAS the obvious person.
Then you get your lengthy trial.

or the secret has been revealed to US that makes X the obvious person, but no one on screen knows... I just HATE the murder mystery where ten people randomly skulk around one night looking guilty and then the lights go out and guess what? the guy they all hated is dead! And all the evidence points to A.. but they didn't do it.. then it points to B, but they didn't do it either... it's not suspenseful, it's just annoying

I think the CSI team should come to town and solve the murder. And WHOA! The one girl on the team bears a striking resemblance to Maria!!
LOL!!!

I don't know...I don't think it would be interesting if the guy accused is the guilty one because then its just a storyline for nothing. The cops got him from the start. We sit though weeks upon weeks fo them gathering evidence for the same result. I wouldn't find that interesting.
OTOH, the Bianca cop-out for the Michael Cambias murder was also lame.

Maybe it's the island that kills him. Islands are known to have power too.
"Guys.... Where ARE we?"
