What gets me is that all this (Katie, the engagement, the baby,) seems like a ploy to draw attention to him. It's so convenient that he has movies coming out right after the tabloids run their stories about him. I think it's all publicity. I mean really. Who gets engaged on top of the Eiffel tower then holds a press conference about it?

Platinum, everyone is different, so don't let any stories get you worked up. I actually know quite a few (well, more than that, really) who had NO trouble giving birth. One girl I know said that she had NO pain whatsoever. I don't know how that could have happened, but she swore to me she felt NO pain. Actually, the pain wasn't horrific for me (and I'm a huge wimp), but being in the hospital 4 days, waiting for her to make her arrival, was no picnic. I got maybe 6-8 hours of sleep in 6 days. It was a nightmare.

Thanks Liz. I am starting to feel the full impact of pregnancy. This Saturday, I'll be 9 months pregnant. I'm tired, a little cranky and overall sore. At this point, I'd welcome 15 hours of pain rather than 4 more weeks of suffering, ha!
Maybe your friend has a high tolerance for pain?

Not really. It really is different for everyone, so don't worry. I just always say to expect the worst and hopefully it'll be better than you expected. You're really in kind of another world (at least I was) when you're giving birth.

Just relax and enjoy the last few weeks you have left. I used to get calls from all my relatives and friends who had kids before me and they would "share" (how thoughtful of them) their labor stories with me until I told them they were freaking me out. Then came all the "loving" stories and I still didn't want to hear it. So I took to shopping, eating, and generally just being lazy AND I worked part time right up to my due date and that was the best thing I did. Keep busy and your mind can't wander!!
Make sure your hubby knows how to download pictures too so he can rush home right after birth and post them here for us!! ;D ;D ;D

;D ;D
Thanks Cruise and Liz! I know I'll be fine. I keep telling myself that millions of women have done this before me and millions will do it after me.
Oh, and he's just now getting the hang of downloading pictures, but there's no way I could explain photobucket to him. His head would explode.

Kallie, what hospital did you deliver at? I was at Waukesha for both of my kids. Nurses the first time were much better than the second time (when I bitched the nurse out). And the second time the nurses were all plotting a stike which pissed me off anyway that they would discuss this in front of patients. After I was "let go" early, I got called back for a round table by the hospital to gain feed back about our stay. I let them all know how I felt about that stay!!!
And Soaper, you KNOW I love you too!!!!!

Oh gosh, if he is then I am in trouble!! ;D I'll have girls stalking my house every day. We are naming him that but we are going to spell it differently than our fine Fish-and-Chips friend. He'll be Aden. My husband actually picked the name out. He ran it past me and it just sort of fit. We had it picked out even before I was pregnant! Thank goodness we aren't having a girl because we spent 5 months arguing about girl names. We never did agree on a single one.

We had a girls name all picked out but I just KNEW he was a he and not a she. We changed our minds right till the end and stuck with Brett! And there seem to be a lot of ways to spell that name. My nephew has a 1 year old and spelled it Ayden. He just has to be different though, he changed his name to Mykel now instead of Michael, he's such a twit!
