Oh, I totally agree 100%, Minkie! It was a total slap in the face to fans and women in general.
And, yes, it is a writing problem-one that really can only be fixed with time (if it's ever fixed). The whining thing has totally turned me off to the character and, really, I've had a hard time rootig for him.I can't even sympathize with him like I did Kendall. When Kendall (AM's) came in what she wanted was Erica to recognize her as her daughter and she wanted Erica's love. She went through nutty, vengeful tactics but I could feel for her, Josh I cannot.

personally i haven't always hated lily. i thought i did but then i realized i liked her fine UNTIL she came home from school and reggie put ketchup on the burger. then i started to hate her. now i can't stand the sight of her and watching her and jon air dancing i was dying. i was actually screaming at jonathan to push her and grab amanda. my neighbor actually pounded on the wall (did i mention i watched it at 1 in the morning and i live in an apt???) i will probably like lily again once she is back at her school. yes - the school that DOESN'T allow tv cameras.
as for josh??? i am still a josh hater but am leaving a tiny crack in my mind open in case the start to write his character better. then i'll think about it.

I hated Lily from day 1. I just stayed mum on it because I thought everyone would call me mean for hating the autistic girl.
Josh...I WANT to like Josh, honestly, but....like I said it's a writing problem. I don't see a reason to root for him after all the crap he pulled before. I hate it when they build up a character to be a villain (which was fine with me) and then suddenly he's the poor victim everyone should feel sorry for...and no build up to it. To me he doesn't have a POV. He hated Greg. He hated Erica. And yet suddenly he loves Greg, he likes Erica and then he'll hate them again...whatever. Plus the abortion thing that will always bug me.
And I probably hate him because they ruined JR for him. LOL. yes I'm biased. I don't care! It's true.
Write Josh better and I'll like him, I'm sure. Colin can pull it off, that's for sure. But I hate him with Babe as well. LOL. (then again, I hate everyone with Babe, she should be alone with 27 cats for the rest of her life.)

C'mon, don't you hate someone on AMC And I'm about the only AMC fan that's never liked Lily and doesn't care too much for Leven. I'm the black sheep of Daytime, LOL!

hey niki - like i said - i liked her for about 5 minutes and then reggie brought her a hamburger with ketchup and she flipped. that was enough!! a lot of us never cared for lily. i can't bash leven cause i don't know how she acts in all aspects but i know she can't play someone with a disability. so i guess i can bash her because her acting talent would be limited. sorry jilly - i'm just sooo done with her. but it's nice to see you stick with your opinion!!!!!!! what about jonathan - now that he is back?? do you still want to keep jilly or see them both go on to something else???

Wow, I really thought I was alone on Leven! I saw an episode of Book of Daniel and I wasn't too impressed. Although she didn't do much but make out with some guy in a car. All the other message boards and magazines pretty much worship her. I agree with Kallietop. I've met many sort of Autistic people from high functioning to low and all kinds inbetween but i've never met someone that acts like Lily. Acts, not behaves. The behavior is usually dead-on but that's mostly due to the writing.Jeez, I never thought I'd praise the AMC writing team!

I know we all keep making cracks about Lily being killed off but it's really not such a bad idea. Seriously, the show could get tons of drama out of her death and Jonathan could be the loving husband to the end (as long as that end comes quickly). How 'about it, AMC, "til death do us part." Kill off Lily---you've no where to go with this character and the death of a young, disabled character would really get you some ratings. Just something to think about.

That is brilliant. Some other soap killed off this teen that'd been on for ages and milked it for all the drama they could get. Killing Lily could also get Jeff another emmy nominee which he was robbed of this past year. And please 98% of this board.

I'm really serious about this. It would be a very good move on their part. I don't think Lily is the reason most of the viewers watch but her death would really be sad and dramatic for most viewers. Here's AMC's chance to kill a character, get the drama/ratings/ and yet not lose a character that has lots of plot potential. It's a win/win situation for everyone.

Charity, I'm sure he'd at least wait until he'd eaten all the casseroles that the "concerned" women had brought to the apartment for the poor, grieving young widower.

No, I don't like this idea because if someone has to die, no doubt McT will write JR doing it. LOL. She must really hate that character.
