Do you have a gas can? Is there a gas station you can walk to?

Just put some lipstick on and get some strong guy to push it home for you. Then you can get some gas from the local gas station whenever it is convenient for you. Just look like a damsel in distress.

I think most gas stations do sell gas cans.

hmmm, i am pretty sure that most gas stations carry gas cans....a little pricey, but better than being without a car.

my sister actualy blew up her car (or got the engine to impode anyway). The check engine light went on when she was driving to Iowa from MN (5 hour trip) and she kept going.... and spent the weekend there and then drove home, when the engine finally went kerplewie. She said, well I figured when it got serious a bell would go off or something. so, compared to some, you are a mensa genius!

problem is we are soo used to seeing that "low fuel" light!!!!! we just drove to the store to get water (can't drink water here - some chlorine issue) and it was soo quick i figured i could get there and back and stop at the gas station in the moring!!!!

Maybe in the future you can go my the milage driven. Our first car's gas guage was broken and we knew we had to fill up whenever we hit 200 miles driven (or whatever it was). Then when we'd fill up the tank we'd reset the trip odometer

Uhm, I've almost run out of gas so many times and it's only been through sheer luck that it hasn't happened---yet. ;D I do so little driving (I walk to work) that I rarely have to put gas in my car. Which is great but when I do head out of town I often forget to look at the gas gage.
