Oh, and Charity, I love the pic of River. He never knew this but he was destined to be my man. I've had a crush on that boy ever since he was in a short-lived TV show called "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." I cried like a freakin' baby when he died. I can't even watch a movie with Joaquin without thinking about River. ummm - he was destined to be my man!! i loved him forever. and just like you i cried like a baby when he died. whenever i hear joaquin's name i think of our river. and my johnny depp makes me think of river. *sigh* i should of known you would understand my river love.

That was such a great movie! With such a great cast! Who knew Stephen King could right such a great non-supernatural story. ???Of course, people don't always believe me when I tell them The Shawshank Redemption was based on one of his short stories.

Definitely one of my faves! Quintessential 80's buddy movie with a macabre twist. But I'm beginning to think most of the 'classics' were made in the 80's. I just realized my fave childhood movie is 22 years old

Aren't kids great? Mine has suddenly discovered Ghostbusters (which I happen to love) and I'm watching it and enjoying it with him until suddenly, I was like oh shit - this movie is 22 years old. WTH did I grow up? I still wanna be a Toys R Us kid. ;D

Love "Stand by Me " and I agree that there were a lot of really fun movies made in the 80s. However, I think I'm the only child of the 80s who doesnt' like "Ghostbusters."

Amy? Ghostbusters, really? That's my fave movie of all time. But Charity, I did not care for ET either, so I guess it's the 2 children of the 80's that didn't like it.

I thought it was great when my nephews and nieces started watching my old favs too. I loved watching "The Goonies" with them. And "16 Candles"' and "The Breakfast Club." And some more that I just can't think of right now.
