I just want to wish each and every one of you wonderful posters here a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. I'm off tomorrow am (about 5:30) to drive ten hours to see my lovely in-laws and ring in the new year. I hope this will NOT be indicitive of what 2007 will be like. But we're having beans and hamhocks on New Year's Day. So, I'm not too optimistic. SO HAPPY NEW YEAR AND LOTS OF LOVE TO YOU ALL!

to you all! I'm scared of hamhocks, to be honest. And I'm even more afraid to eat hamhocks with people who are also ingesting beans. Call me a bad sport, but I think I might go back to our motel room when this ritual begins to pass. Oh, a pun. And a very bad one. Sorry. I just can't wait until next Wednesday. I am so not looking forward to this visit. I'm planning on taking lots of xanax and as my friend suggested: bring a flask. I think she also meant that I should fill it with something stronger than Snapple. Naw, I'll end up being a good sport and poking my eyeballs out at Motel Six. Why? Because it's the only motel in Hemet. Don't even ask. There is NOTHING in Hemet. And I will be there to attest to that fact. I'm so not looking forward to this. It's going to be bad. Just like it was two years ago. Except I'm older and crankier. I must remember to bring my cane.

Not only are you being served (notice I didn't say "eating") ham hocks and beans ( ), but you have to stay at the Motel 6? Well, they're leaving the light on for you, I guess. ;D

Liz, This is SO NOT ME! I'm trying here, but it's really hard. My in-laws are really nice, but snarky. You would think that would endear them to me, but THEY'RE SNARKY ABOUT ME! By the way, Motel Six is the first place I ever had sex in. And then I watched cartoons afterwards. Somehow, I think we'll be skipping the first part of this statement and moving immediately into the cartoon segment. This is what happens when you've been married forever. And have to visit your in-laws. Yikes.

You should come to Cincy around Labor Day. HUGE firework display courteous of the Rozzi's and a local rock station. They do it on the riverfront - very pretty.
