Previews for the week of 27-Mar-2006
by Carol Banks Weber
David tries to provoke the truth about Dixie from Janet, but storms off in a futile huff.
Dixie can barely believe this is the man she once almost loved, especially after she finds out that David plans to mastermind JR’s downfall.
Zach trails Dixie on her way to bite David’s head off. On her way, she almost lets herself get found out by JR at the hospital.
Zach orchestrates a rendezvous between Dixie and David, so they may hash out their differences out from the public eye.
David successfully forces Dixie’s detainment. She has to, or he’ll sing like a bird.
Time certainly has changed David, for the worse, thinks Dixie pensively.
Dixie recoils at the sight and sound of Dr. Greg Madden, for a good reason. He’s no stranger. And no friend.
Tad discusses Greg’s research into the Martin family tree, while Dixie spies on them, growing more panicky by the minute. She doesn’t know the context of their conversation – Josh and Erica. She just assumes Greg’s presence means trouble for her big secret.
For a long time, Dixie has been trying to track this Greg down. And suddenly, there he is!
Dixie vs. Greg, each using whatever strengths at their disposal to outwit the other.
Greg doesn’t worry too much about Dixie, because he knows he ultimately wields the power in this, relationship, for he holds her big secret in his powerful hands. If he wanted to, he could blow her big secret wide open to the people she loves most, and then, they won’t love her so much. But he promised he would take her big secret to his grave. It is in his best interest to shut his trap, as well.
Foes Dixie and Greg reach an impasse. Neither desires to out the other, least of all Dixie, who has more to lose because of her continuing charade.
Dixie cautions Zach to not allow Kendall to continue on as Greg’s patient. It’s because of Greg that her and Tad’s baby Kate no longer exists.
Kendall broaches the subject of her going to another ob-gyn, but Greg won’t have it. He can’t give her up that easily, and won’t.
Greg spreads bad press about Ryan – as this big, bad anti-adoptionist – in order to keep Kendall as his patient. Greg’s goal is ultimately to isolate Kendall from Ryan.
Running into Ryan’s formerly-psycho, younger brother Jonathan, and his rambling on about becoming an uncle to her unborn baby, doesn’t aid in Kendall’s mental turmoil, but certainly boosts Greg’s case.
Kendall seeks out Zach’s counsel. He reaffirms his belief in her judgment.
The change of heart in Ryan about taking responsibility for his child gives Zach his own change of heart about Ryan. Zach counsels Kendall, through his own painful experience with Ethan, to give Ryan a break.
Zach continues in his wise counsel: Perhaps a change of scenery, back to the regularity of your Fusion job, might be of better comfort.
Kendall takes Zach’s heartfelt, honest counsel to heart, loving him again.
Julia sounds her alarm against Greg, too, to Kendall.
Zach proclaims his love for Kendall.
Operation Kill Greg, in Erica’s opinion, has progressed beautifully.
Julia sadly informs Ryan of Greg’s prognosis for her: she can never be fruitful and multiply.
BS! Ryan retorts.
Ryan gets Julia excited about the possibility that Greg’s been putting her on. He recommends she find another ob-gyn to check her vitals out.
Another ob-gyn gives Julia the green light to be fruitful, she’s fine.
The second ob-gyn’s diagnosis sets Julia and Ryan off on another adventure, to try and scope out evidence against Dr. Greg Madden.
Ryan agrees to give it a rest after Kendall begs him to stop nagging at her about Greg, she’s already got so much to worry about.
Erin’s affirmations give Ryan the boost he sorely needs to pursue a custody arrangement with Kendall. But Kendall’s already thinking she needs Ryan out of her baby’s life, thanks in large part to Greg’s meddling.
Wracked with guilt about keeping yet another secret from Tad (about Dixie), Di goes to unburden herself. But when she has the chance to disclose to Tad that Dixie’s alive, Di balks. Then covers by…
…popping the question impulsively. Her impulsive proposal of marriage causes Tad much anguish and upset, because … he’d rather have popped the question himself.
Whew! thinks Di.
Half of Di – the half Tad gets to see – feels euphoria at finding such love from such a man. Yet, the other half – the half hidden in the shadows – frets over when the bombshell will drop and decimate her storybook romance.
Doing those scenes delighted Di’s portrayer Kelli Giddish. As they did equally for Michael E. Knight (Tad).
Tad is alerted to the impending visit of Jeff Martin, which prompts the adopted Martin to brood on what happens then, like, with Jeff’s unknown son Josh?
JR and Babe follow up their wedding with a wedding night, hubba hubba.
JR keeps interrupting Babe with his loving chunkies, as she prepares to go in to work at Fusion.
JR can’t believe Babe would consort with Amanda. But she does.
Babe explains to JR why she’s consorting with Amanda, Forgiveness & Compassion 101—foreign concepts to him.
Janet reasserts her claim – Dixie walks among us – to doubting Thomas JR.
Babe reasserts her majority stockholder in the Fusion situation, despite Kendall’s and Simone’s disapproval. Babe will not be in name only.
First order of Babe’s business: Introducing Kendall, Simone et al to the newest employee, Amanda Dillon.
The sight of the woman responsible for setting loose a mad mama upon Ethan sets off Simone, who takes to beating on Amanda.
Ow! Amanda’s wrist! Babe to the rescue, off to fix the boo-boo at the hospital.
Amanda bites Josh’s head off. Greg notices this exchange.
Greg presents a Fusion-less Amanda entry into a new line of employment. Amanda bites.
Josh cuts Julia down, and she feels cut to the bone.
Erica daydreams about a special New Beginnings show, where she commits murder most foul against Greg for live television. She’s gone, folks.
Erica invites Greg for another cup of toxic tea. He doesn’t know about the toxic part, yet, and so, drinks up. The same chest-clutching follows shortly thereafter.
Greg and Josh turn a corner.
It tickles Erica pink to know her toxic tea took Greg down, hopefully for the count, and he’s now at the hospital struggling for his very life.
With Greg indisposed, Erica forages around in his office, for the evidence that would link his heart palpitations with her cup of special tea. Oh, there it is!
And there’s Ryan, inquiring as to Erica’s reason for standing there in Greg’s office.
Erica plays dumb to Ryan, not willing to give her murder machinations away.
Greg’s heart doctor, Dr. David Hayward, ponders his puzzling case. Test results give nothing away, either.
Next week: Payback’s a bitch, Greg. Especially when her name’s Dixie… Di tries to unload the scepter of Dixie’s return off her shoulders by re-asking Dixie to please give her – and them – full disclosure. But Dixie won’t… In frustration, Di drops a bombshell on Dixie. This could change everything… This, the engagement, could be what draws Dixie out into the light… Di is dropped her own little bombshell, when David breaks it to her that Dixie won’t be going anywhere… David has his heart set on continuing where he left off with Dixie, before she went to Europe… Dixie probes into Greg’s inner workings with a flurry of questions to him… Erica masterminds the final solution to ridding the world of Greg… Sensing evil in Greg, Zach sounds the alarm to Ryan…. Zach and Ryan go about probing into Greg’s past, maybe they can lay claim to evidence against this guy, thus coming to Kendall’s rescue… Kendall settles on the fate of her and Ryan’s unborn baby, without Ryan or herself in the picture. Seems Dr. Greg Madden wins… Janet drops a dime on Babe, by ratting out her ulterior motive in re-wedding JR. But will JR buy the dime, coming from Janet?... Jamie and Amanda learn to be the best buddies they used to be back in childhood… Josh vs. Julia, Part IV.
After that: Di’s Kelli Giddish told Carolyn Hinsey (in last Friday’s NY Daily News spoiler update) that she hadn’t expected Dixie to make herself public as soon as she will, but she will when Tad shakes the fairy dust from his eyes at her truth… David exhorts Dixie for them to try again, take up where she left off back in Europe, as they belong together… As hinted in an audition script (see below), Greg dispatches Kendall to his private island paradise, where she meets other pregnant women just like her, ready, willing and able to give up their young, and enormously attached to their godly ob-gyn… Zach and Ryan team up to free Kendall from Greg’s clutches, but they better hurry… Erica blows Ryan’s mind, when she confides in him about how Josh came to be and how Greg did it to her back in 1973… Josh starts wondering what Erica’s up to, or what she’s hiding… Here comes Jeff Martin, like it was 1973 all over again.
Rumors: TPTB are looking for an older Colby – from six or seven to 15-18 – and may have found her in (oh please, oh please) Robyn Richards (ex-Maxie, GH)… May Sweeps on AMC = Another Whodunit… Erica could face another trial, as the prime suspect in the murder of Dr. Greg Madden. Dixie might as well line up behind her… Dixie and Madden might very well have conspired to give her and Tad’s baby girl away mid-trimester to another couple, because of a health issue affecting the birth. Or worse, Dixie is Erica, the sequel.
An audition script reveals Dr. Greg Madden’s pregnant woman farm (a spa on a tropical island, really). A pregnant woman named Camille simply adores her god of a doctor, and isn’t shy about telling so to Kendall, who just seems lost. The audition script is supposedly for the day players to study up on and as such, could change closer to filming.
