i still wish kate was a couple years younger if they are going to switch her around. 4 year olds know a lot and remember a lot and it will scar her - future SL: in 3 years an18 yr old kate is entered into roselawn (oh that's GH mental institution - owell, it'll work)

I don't think so actually....I don't remember virtually anything from around age 4. She'll remember some things but not a heck of a lot...it'll be fuzzy memories, most likely. And in soap land...she'll forget this in a week, no doubt. It won't scar her. Heck Kendall seems to always forget her adoptive family and she actually lived most of her life with them. LOL. I'm surprised she doesn't just call herself Kendall Kane.

what ever did happen to her loving adopted parents?? ;D see - i have a lot of memories before the age of 4. it all depends on the person - i guess but in amc world they will live happily ever after!!!!! i'm already tired of the dixie end of the kate story. now we have to go thru annie's story first and if we wait long enough - in about a year - kate will be with tad and dixie! ;D

I just find it amazing that they managed to make this Dixie/Kate storyline such an utter bomb. I mean come on, it's a supercouple, a major return, angsty stuff and no one cares. That's a real achievement....they made the only decent storyline they had suck. LOL. You have to REALLY work at it to achieve that.

No but I'm including that in the whole thing...if they really wanted madden in a box, they needed to villify him a heck of a lot more. Dixie's whole storyline since she returned was a huge bomb, and it's really amazing that they couldn't even get that to work.
She lurked for too long. She whined for too long. Her reasons for staying away made no sense whatsoever. She STILL hasn't had much reconnecting with her family....a handful of scenes with Tad, a handful with Jr, most with Zach of all people, none with Jamie, one with Palmer...it's lame. The storyline just didn't progress at all and I don't feel anything for Kate. They needed more flashbacks of the baby or SOMETHING. And then the great topper, they can't seem to do anything to find Kate but put a no-so-evil guy in a box and kill him. I mean now...I almost think these people don't deserve Kate.
There were so many directions they could take this storyline and they picked the most unappealing one. I found it boring after about 3 weeks when it became clear AMC wasn't going anywhere with it.

yep, I never saw Madden as evil. Misguided in a medical genius sort of way maybe, but not evil. And the whole box thing made me hate Dix more... Kate wasn't stolen, she gave her away and then realized she screwed up. not only was this unappealing, it was appaulling and sickening.... and it's getting worse. sigh.

Madden COULD HAVE BEEN a great, terrifically evil character. He could have pushed the adoption on Dixie knowing she was drugged up on meds from the surgery or something. He could have really threatened her family if she told anyone about Kate. He could have really overtly tried to take Kendall's baby and keep her locked up on that island. He could have really kidnapped Erica and tried to force her to love him. He could have manipulated Josh to REALLY hate Erica and go out to destory her. They could have introduce more of the women he impregnanted with his own sperm so that became a real issue. They set up any and all of those things but Madden never did them so I didn't see him as evil.
Dixie signed her rights away knowing full well what she was doing. Madden had nothing to do with her choosing to stay "dead." Madden never really tried to get Spike. Madden never got anywhere with Erica. Madden seemed very loving towards Josh, if overbearing.
That's why I see Madden as a HUGE missed opportunity. That could have brought in so many characters into one huge storyline, just like Michael Cambias.

If Madden told Erica that her child would be born with SERIOUS physical abnormalities that would require round the clock medical attention and encouraged Erica to go after her career, have the abortion all so that he could keep her fetus. And if he had told Dixie a similar story but added that a couple had been fostering her while she was in coma and despite her physical disabilities they loved her and were the only parents that she had ever known yadda yadda yadda ...only for Dixie to learn later that there was nothing wrong with Kate and that Madden lied.... I would say he was a monster..but he didn't and I think that the AMC writers should be lined up and shot for making women look so bad.

Yeah exactly....there were ways to make Madden seriously creepy and justify him going out with a bang. And make it a serious umbrella storyline. But AMC didn't do that, it was a huge cop-out and I don't understand why. I'm fairly convinced the Madden Island stuff was redone for some reason because it was so utterly pointless.
