Okay, I officially hate both characters now. I can not BELIEVE what Jamie said to his grandfather today. And thank god he did quit, the boy never really went to college, never went to a single class at med school or studied at all and was playing intern? And what was with the righteous indignation over Josh's actions? And Julia sticking up for him... sickening, utterly sickening. I almost wish Joe slapped him for being such a selfish bastard. And I do hope Tad finds out about the meat locker and rips both boys a new one, especially since Josh gave Zach the clue that might help them finally find Kate (not that poor Kate deserves this bunch as a family) And JR... well, in deference to the JY lovers on the board I'll be nice... I'll just say that tptb seem bound and determined to write him as an ass and it is working.

Jamie was a pompous ass to Joe, really mean and spiteful and wouldn't let the man get a word in edgewise. Honestly I don't remember what started or who started the spitting contest between JR/Jamie and Josh but I was sick of it a month ago and really annoyed by it now. Jamie defended JR and what JR did to Josh to the high heavens... it was extreme and stupid. What a lapdog... when did he become JR's chewtoy?

I heard elsewhere that Jamie basically called Joe on his favouritism. If that's true, then I say go Jamie. I don't buy Joe's instant love for Josh just because he's biologically related over kids that he was actually a grandfather to for many many years.

*shrug* I don't really care about any of them at the moment but frankly, I don't like Joe at all for how he handled this Josh thing. He was giving blatant favouritism, he was really insensitive to Erica and how this affected her, he was basically saying biology is destiny. I mean he white washed all of Josh's crimes because he's a Martin and a BIOLOGICAL grandson. If someone is calling him on that, then I say good. He's earned some disrespect.

I don't think biology had anything to do with it. I mean, Martin by blood vs Martin by adoption. Josh mentioned he was leaving and Joe did believe Josh over Jamie/Julia... but frankly, given what he'd just seen can you blame him? Julia's only alibi was Jamie, and considering how Joe found them... was Jamie a believable unbiased alibi? But there was much more to the scene than the Annie asthma situation and Jamie was so disrespectful it was hard to watch

Joe is perfectly aware that Josh drugged Erica. He's also perfectly aware that Josh has a definite mean streak to him and he tried to sabatoge Erica for not other reason than ego. He chooses to ignore that. He also chooses to ignore that Julia is a fully registered and good nurse and deserved the benefit of the doubt.
Joe has a serious blind spot when it comes to Josh and IMO he should be called on it.

true, but I'd accept it all if JR and Jamie hadn't hung Josh in the meat locker or lied about their alibis for Madden's kidnapping... The writing hasn't been consistant for Josh, but it still bothers me that most people didn't seem to think he had a right to be horrified about what happened to his dad.

It's funny how different we view a scene. I was cheering Jamie on for calling Joe out. Joe does have a serious blindspot where Josh is concerned. I suspect this is all to build a bigger story around the battling Martins, Jamie and Josh (though Josh has more Kane in him than Martin, imo).

Oh I do think Josh has a right to be pissed and all that. I'm just talking about Joe and his attitude towards the whole thing. Regardless of Jamie and JR both being assholes, Jamie has a point. Joe is showing blantant favouritism and it affects more than just relationships in the Martin family, Josh used it to get out of being held accountable for what happened to Annie. It affects the hospital itself. He accused an innocent nurse of wrong doing that put someone's life at risk.
My problem with it is, Joe knows Josh isn't an angel, so he shouldn't be so surprised when things like this pop up. He shouldn't be automatically taking Josh's side on EVERYTHING and spouting off that Josh is some misunderstood angel. He's not.

I agree that Joe deserved to be called out for his obvious favoritism...but I thought Jamie's approach was all wrong. I don't like this Jamie anymore than I liked the golden boy Jamie. Jamie is a smug, arrogant a-hole. I haven't like Joe during this s/l either -- he's blindly favored Josh even though he knew Josh drugged Erica etc. I also didn't like how judgmental Joe was when he first found out about Josh's real paternity. So, I'll repeat what I've said all along: this s/l SUCKS.

I'm with Kelly on this one. Both Jamie and Joe are at fault for the bad/hurt feelings between them. But they're both sticking up for family even if it's different people in the same family. I hope they make up soon. And I like how they made Joe concerned for Jamie even though they just had a fight. That's so grandpa-like.
