I can't wait for the day that my kids will take their showers by themselves, be able to make their own food, if need be, and go to bed by themselves!!! ;D ;D Julia took a nap today (VERY rare occurrence) and didn't fall asleep until midnight tonight. NICE!!!! I was going to kick her !!! She was put to bed at 9 (1 hour later than normal), but she STILL kept getting up!!! She'll be a treat tomorrow!!

that's good though, imo. my parents never let me do anything like that. i did'nt work, i did'nt have chores, only keep my grades up, that was it. when i got my first apartment....oy...talk about a wake up call. i did'nt know how to do ANYTHING! as sad as it may sound, i'm 30 years old and have NEVER mowed the lawn. EVER.

I love flossing (sad but true). Tell her to keep that up-it saves me tons on dental bills. Staying up late is awesome. When I was about her age I couldn't fall asleep until 12 usually, even when I tried. I hated mornings and I still do.

The lawn mowing thing was just learned 3 years ago. I wanted to cut the lawn because Andrew was always working, so I did it. You're not missing much, Tex!! ;D ;D ;D

ha ha!!!!!! i had one fuc*ed mother. by 5 i was cooking dinners!!!!!! dusting, wash, cleaning bathrooms. jeff did dishes cause he was older than me and could reach better. kallie has chores but not too much. but seriously - now that she is older and likes to throw her clothes all over the house - i need her help keeping up!!!!
at least i never lived in a house so not knowing how to mow lawns comes by naturally!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I think a lot of kids were brought up that way.No worries, we'll learn how to mow some day or maybe I'll opt for watching some hot guy do it for me (okay, I'll stop channeling Gabriela from DH) My parents were all about the grades (they're teachers) and I was busy playing sports all the freakin' time, so we never really did the chore thing..

ahhh...so Liz has "princess issues" too! YAY!! i'm not alone! ;D When I was younger, my dad bought me a T-shirt for Christmas that said "ONE WAY". I didn't get it at first, and he laughed and said that it was because I thought that MY way was the only one that was important!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
