am i only who feels slightly offended. well, i guess i don't have the right to be offended but pissed off. so zarf appeared naked and meditating. ok - meditating i can get - naked in fusion WTF?? ok - the simone, erin, and dani were soo funny working on getting naked when kendall walked in. zarf needed babe for her energy. no one else completed his auroa and need to find inner peace. he walked away from babe because she lost her auroa etc. he said he will come back after the next full moon so they can "reconnect" right now she was robbing his energy. OK - i do yoga. it's relaxing. (tho i've faltered on that a bit) - i am a self confessed tree hugger who wears my heart on my sleeve. inner peace is good - wish it on everyone (and maybe some day i'll find it ;D) and i lived in an eccentric (sp) area of milwaukee (cruise - east side) and it's all kewl but - - - does it seem that they are already killing the transgender story before it even started? i mean naked in fusion (tho erin liked what she saw ) so they make the eccentric character on the show - the one that people are looking at that he is a complete nut case - is the one with the transgender SL? ?? i really feel like they bombed this story already. they are making his character the one that the characters on AMC make fun of. once again - AWESOME WRITTING AMC!!!!! BRAVO!! yes - that is sarcastic.

I've been reading different boards and Zarf isn't getting any love anywhere. I haven't seen the show today, so I can't comment.

I'll be the odd gal out! I loved Zarf and I want to see more. I was'nt offended. If anything, it took me back to my rockstar days! he did SUCH a good job! ;D ;D that's the only stereotyping that i really saw. I loved how the fusion girls were drooling and annoyed all at the same time. I loved how he called Kendall on her shit, lying to Ryan. EVERYONE has to prop babe unfortunately but I liked how he pretty much dismissed at the end. LOL From what i've read on other boards, everyone is screaming stereotype but, and maybe i'm wrong, would'nt be the first time, but i saw NO sexuality type of stereotyping going on. Infact, if it were'nt for spoilers and the media attention, would "offensive" even be questioned? Or would it be "god, another flakey rockstar"??

You are not alone Tex! I thought I was the only one. I enjoyed Zarf today, and I did not think I would. I did not like the character when he/she first appeared with Babe and Josh in the hotel. I actually thought he was hilarious today, and I loved it when he called Kendall on her lie to Ryan. Kendall's reaction when she walked in on Zarf and the girls was priceless!

TEX - not really what i was trying to get across. i didn't find him offensive - i thought his whole deal was pretty damn funny. i find TPTB offensive!!!!!!!! and i have been called "eccentric" in my day. for stereotyping?? i wasn't trying to portry that - either. my whole bit is that the writers are seeming to join an eccentric rocker to a transgender person. i know a couple transgender people and first they don't want there penis let along sitting criss cross showing their family jewels for everyone. except for spoilers, we have no clue that he is a transgender. almost like it should be 2 S/L. yes, a transgender rocker can be eccentric, also. BUT i do see the writers taking it a little far. today was great and he was awesome. BUT since PV is soo prim and proper - they seem to be heading that this part of him is also because of him being a transgender and not the rocker. i mean seriously - how many of the average person see his fusion scene as a rocker?? i can see it but i bet a majority of the amc viewers wouldn't see that as being a rock star. they would associate it with him being a transgender which i find sad. come on - the majority of people would assume a rocker is drugs and chics. so far it seems as if they are portraying transgenders as being "different" instead of someone you can sit down and have a cup of coffe with!! so thinking from an average persons point of view (which i'm not average - just looking at it that way) they will def. connect his inner peace and energy to him being a transgender. and that is what offends me. the writers offend me. tptb offends me. and the fact i can already see them killing this sl offends me. i haven't read the other boards about zarf. i am scared they aren't going to be able to pull off his true story.

BABS!! i was LMAO!! sigh...our sweet little Erin is'nt so sweet is she? Charity, i see what you mean, and i was likely still reeling from all the crap i've read on other boards today. everyone is screaming how offended they are because it's a bad portrayal of a transgender person. My issue is, his sexuality/orientation or what have you, has'nt even become an issue just yet. His character has not been changed, over the top is exactly how he was initially introduced. And please don't take this the wrong way, i dont' seem to have that part of the brain that prevents me from being offensive to other people LOL but i've read so many, "speaking as a gay man..." and "as someone who knows lesbians, gay men and transgenders..."...and so on...is'nt that stereotyping as well? I just dont think anyone can really say that Zarf's portrayal is correct or not without stereotyping in some form or fashion. did that come out right? i never know. anywho, the actor is FABULOUS and it took me back to the early days of Jeff. What drew me to Jeff was his subtle facial expressions letting the audience know something more was to come. Jeffery did the same thing today. Not just his standard over the top stuff...it's in his eyes, it's there if you really look for it. i have ZERO faith in TIIC so if it does'nt send me running for the hills...i'll be ok, it's moreso the acting that i'm looking forward to. If you read his interview with TVGO, you'll see that it won't all be a watered down version of A Clockwork Orange.

Zarf gave me the creeps. And, after looking at toned and fit men, he looks rather doughy. But he may not affect everyone that way. You know I just have Jamesvision. Ewwwww!

I haven't watched AMC in weeks, but it doesn't sound like I'm missing much. I can say though that Zarf annoyed me the one time I saw him, and that was before any of this transgender stuff came up. Maybe I'll think differently when I see him again, but the one (two?) episode(s) I saw of him were obnoxious.

tex, I see your point, if you didn't know what tptb had planned you might read it differently. But this isn't your average spoiler, it's been in the mainstead media quite a lot, yahoo, msn, cnn, ALL OVER. tptb want it that way

oh the media is all over it! it's just irritating to me because we knew his eccentric personality from the last time he was on but now that people know what's coming, oh the humanity. blech.

if anything, his past experience makes him more qualified for this role, thatn your typical actor. He does Broadway and was in Taboo. He played the character that is a real life fan of Boy George who was nicknamed "Marilyn" because he liked to dress like Marilyn Monroe! This is'nt new to Jeffrey so i don't think he's worried about being type cast.
