I just want to give a thumbs up to the people on OLTL (make-up? the actors themselves? Dare I even say perhaps, TIIC? Nah, forget TIIC) for at least making people who are in the hospital really look bad. And that is a compliment. Really.
The people who go into hospitals on soaps generally tend to still look like they've suffered nothing more serious than a hang-nail. But on OLTL (as much as I am disliking certain things about it now), they at least seem to get that people who are about to have heart transplants (Vicki) and who have been shot in the neck (Bo), and who have had the ever-lovin' crap beat out of them (Nash) are not going to have roses blooming in their cheeks, perfect hair and sparkling eyes or lip gloss galore. Norah, even though she doesn't look terrible, still doesn't look like she's blooming with health.
I applaud the effort made to make these patients look like real people having real medical problems
As opposed to GH. For goodness sake, the name of the show is GENERAL HOSPITAL. People go in for major brain surgery, heart problems, gunshot wounds, you name it. They always have make-up on, no head-shaving involved and they leave within a day with nothing more than a bandaid over their ear or a scratch on their upper left cheekbone with their glorious hair cascading all around them.
So, hats off (unless I had my head shaved!) to OLTL for at least making people look like actual patients in a hospital.
Poor Nash. He REALLY looks like he's hurting! I think they've done a good job with his injuries. Maybe I can help him
