Okay,I found this report on a Robin and Patrick board (True Believers-Scrubs). They are Robin/Patrick (Kimberly/Jason) slanted fans but there are brief mentions of stars from AMC and OLTL (including the wonderful Cameron Mathison) so enjoy what you can (by the way I have to put them in seperate posts because of the character limit) :
*phrases are paraphrased and exact quotes. If you plan to post on another site credit me and the Scrubs board*
On Sunday there was a show/presentation called the Celebrity Media interviews. This was where a select number of people were able to sit in on a press conference where members of the press ask the soap stars various questions. We were lucky enough to find out that there was a media interview with only Jason, Kimberly and Tristan.
We went into this room where half of the 8 rows were blocked off for various press outlets. The remaining four held the audience and definitely less than 100 people were there. We were given the opportunity to take pictures for one minute and then we had to put all videography and photography equipment away. The three of them came out and the order of photography was Kim, Tristan and Jason. The emcee was counting down the time for us to take pictures of Kimberly and Robert joked,” Is this a countdown?” When he was done Jason joked,” Lift off.” Once this section was done the three sat down with Jason on the left, Kimberly in the center and right is Tristan.
The first question was did Jason know that Rick Springfield would be his dad? Jason replied that he found out a half an hour before he went on stage that he would be his dad. He was asked if he had heard of Rick and Jason said,” I’m sure everyone’s had a Jessie’s girl. We looked similar.” He elaborates that this was his first big break and that is appreciative of Rick’s support.
The next question (and one of the most important!) was by a journalist who said that we heard that head writer Guza wants an HIV pregnancy storyline and is doing the necessary research. Kim says that this is the first of her hearing of it. Then Jason had this funny look and says, “Is it my baby?” We laugh and then Kim makes a face and rolls her eyes and says,” Not another Who’s the Daddy.” But when asked if she would want to do an HIV pregnancy storyline she turned serious and said,” Yes. I would love to do that. It is an important way to show that HIV pregnancies can happen and how common they are in today’s society. This can be good for their relationship (referring to Scrubs). I don’t have children and this can serve as good practice. Jason interjected, “You can have them for four hours a day.” Kim responded with it could be good practice for real life. It was implied that this was for her character and for herself. She had played pregnant parts before and loves wearing the fake belly.
Another reporter asks Tristan and Kim that the writers have done their homework in regards to the HIV+ and what were some of their personal experiences? Kimberly says that “I have one in mind, a woman from this weekend says that her uncle died of AIDS and her brother still lives with AIDS. As she watches the show she is able to relate and it is cathartic for her. It is important to connect with the issues and to educate. The biggest problems in Africa is the AIDS epidemic. People from the Scrubs board raised $26000 dollars for the AIDS walk. It is amazing the type of dedication and it is one of the most important parts of being an actor. (staying connected to the audience- the audience has the chance to watch every day and grow closer to these characters, etc.)
TV Guide online columnist Daniel asked the questions that we were thinking! His question is aimed at Jason but hasn’t voiced that and says that he is popular with the ladies. And Kimberly replies, “Thank you.” Jason laughs and then Daniel redirects the question to Jason about what it is like to be an object of lust for women? He said that it is very intense, but in a good way. It is amazing to see the fans, and their dedication. They travel great distances to come and he mentions being dedicated again. As actors we don’t realize the impact that we are on every day and we enter your homes, etc. He is very thankful for the support. They would not have jobs or be where they are without the support of the fans. He appreciates it all but he thinks it is crazy that people think of him that way. Then Daniel directs the question to Tristan and says what is it like to be an object of lust and desire? Tristan said desire is good. He has been away for 15 years. He is reconnecting and still remembering what happened. It gives a positive to future.
Kimberly interjects that she met an 84 year old women and said she has watched since the first episode. Soap fans are so dedicated and that is a reminder that soaps last so long and this is only medium that you can check in with a character that has been gone and see them return. Daniel then talked about Anna and how great Finola Hughes was. He said that she came on with such fanfare but lately has been “skulking around investigating Lorenzo,” and it’s like that the writers don’t know what to do with her. So basically asking what the Scorpio clan is up to. Kim replied that we were lucky to have her at all. There are scheduling conflicts since she has her own show. But she thinks that TPTB can try harder for her to come and accommodate her schedule. Then Tristan reveals that a few weeks ago Finola was asked her weeks of availability which is good sign for coming scenes. Also want to note that when Daniel was talking about Anna, he said that he loved how she kicked Robert’s ass which Tristan laughed at and Kim smiled when he mentioned the Scorpio family reunion.
I can’t remember the question but I think it pertains to what is the biggest change. Tristan says that and being away for 15 years, it is like a stark change. There was a total reorganization of the show in how it is written, shot and produced. He thought he would have to reintroduce the character but luckily that didn’t happen. He had to readjust to how things are and things like a script. Kim says that her and Tristan used to adlib but until he returned she was the “lone ranger” in that department. Now the lines they are are written and now that he is back they get to change it around. Tristan then made the gesture and comments that nowadays that he gets the scripts, looks at it and then puts it away. “Scorpio is a spiritual part of the show that is already there.” It is a way to re-establish self. With Tony the conversation was the same as it had always been. The reconnecting of Robert and Robin was the most important relationship and one he pays most attention to.
Then these questions were the more generic. They asked Jason how did he get his start. The usual of living in Edmonton, left when 18 years old, modeling in Europe, go to LA when he is 21 or 22 years old. He ate “tuna and rice for 2 ½ years straight.” He didn’t work for 3 years until GH came along. He continually stayed in class and is glad to be working. Then made a comment that we all could have free drinks at Halo. When he is talking about coming on the show, Jason says that he is lucky for finding a job then Kimberly announces, “Lucky me he is such a good actor.” They then look at each other and clasp hands. He is asked about being the McDreamy of daytime and how it compares with the McDreamy of primetime. Jason replied that he films on the same lot as Patrick Dempsey. He sees him a lot. And at the same time Jason and Kim says, “He’s hot.” Then Jason says, “He’s a good looking dude.” He says that he has met Patrick Dempsey on various occasions- Patrick Dempsey is very gracious and Jason had a chance to hang out a few times with him at this year’s Indy 500.
The last question was directed at Tristan. He is always asked if Jack Wagner will be returning. He replies that he does not know and doesn’t think that. There is lots of talk, but highly unlikely. He says that people seem to forget that Jack is on another show. As for Sean and Tiffany this is simply just talk and nothing is being planned at the moment. For Felicia (Kristina Melandro) has pretty much quit the business. If she were to even consider coming back it won’t happen until a lot of changes are being made.
The interview concluded, all three said thank you for attending. These 3 get along really well. Kim called Tristan, “Triste” on several times and there seemed to be an inside joke between them. It was the best interview we saw by far. All were real and genuine with their reactions. We were acknowledged by Kimberly as a board in the press- this is a great thing! Plus she and Jason both seem really committed and wanted to pregnancy storyline pan out 100 percent!
