Previews for the week of 20-Mar-2006
by Carol Banks Weber
A close call with Tad leaves Dixie in jitters. And ready to go back into hiding, elsewhere, out of state.
Before Dixie slinks away again, she masquerades as a doctor to take one last peek at her grandson, little Adam, in the hospital.
Dixie lurks nearby as Babe waxes eloquently about love, forgiveness, redemption, happiness for her and her own, and smiles in approval.
Krystal can’t fight fate. She and Adam are fated.
JR nods to a bewildered, bemused Babe, it’s true enough.
Tad’s head practically spins at the sight of these two unlikely couples lovey-doveying it up at Chez Chandler.
Krystal assures Tad her love for Adam’s the real deal.
Inspired by JR and Babe, Adam and Krystal add themselves to the wedding bliss. In their case, re-wedded bliss.
Jamie still isn’t so sure about JR and Babe, until he seeks validation from the bride-to-be.
Inspired by Babe’s sincere belief in and adoration of JR, Jamie consents to stand up there as best man.
Palmer campaigns to put David back on the medical staff, much to Joe’s bafflement. JR backs up Palmer (he’s doing this for Babe), but only if David behaves himself from now on.
You are cordially invited to the wedding of JR Chandler to Babe Carey. As well as Adam Chandler to Krystal Carey. On this the day JR and Babe’s baby boy, little Adam, was born not so long ago. A park in the spring is as good a venue as any.
Yes, even you David… You’re required to accompany your daughter bride down the aisle, to give her away to groom JR.
David would be there, except, he got held up (by Zach) and caught up (in this Dixie mystery).
Hot on the trail, David orders Di to grant him a meeting with Dixie.
Del swears to Di that he did not blab to David about Dixie.
Di’s on pins and needles about something, but without the details (hah), Tad can do nothing but try to calm her down, show his optimistic face, in general.
Dixie changes plans again, ‘cause she’d like to witness her son’s wedding to Babe before she splits. For that Herculean task, Di and Del assist.
David freaks after a woman looking remarkably like Dixie goes running off through the hospital.
Di charges over to Zach, alerting him to the David situation.
Zach speeds over to David, just as David goes over security tapes from the hospital, hoping for proof of Dixie’s live presence.
Zach takes David hostage, and stashes the snoop in a storage closet for safekeeping until the coast is clear.
David, however, manages to wrest free from his closet confines, to run into Dixie anyway.
Dixie confirms to David that she has indeed risen from the dead.
David catches Dixie lurking near the Chandler double-wedding ceremony as an invisible guest.
David acts like a giddy little schoolboy on a puppy-love high with Dixie.
But Dixie’s just about David keeping his big yap shut. Will he?
David bargains with Dixie’s life, beseeching her to hold off on taking off for a bit.
JR gives Tad and Di, the couple, his blessing. They beam with relief.
Opal indicts Di as a woman harboring much deceit.
As Babe pays homage to (what she believes to be the late) Dixie in her vows, the real deal herself feels like crap as she listens in.
Adam and Krystal look like lusty teens, slobbering all over each other.
Tad circles the wagon of his clan, to ward dirty dastardly David away.
Amanda expresses genuine remorse to Babe for the trouble her mother caused.
Babe grants Amanda mercy, and preaches mercy to JR.
Taken aback, JR does as Babe commands.
Brooke takes over as a mommy figure to Amanda, in Janet’s absence. She tends to Amanda’s grief and opens up her home to the young woman, who is only too eager and so very thankful for the hospitality.
Derek strongly suggests Amanda sell the DA’s plea deal to Janet.
Amanda’s sell to Janet falls flat. Janet declares Amanda a traitor, disowning her outright.
Brooke proffers solace to a desolate Amanda.
Later, Brooke continues where Amanda left off, strongly arguing for Janet to just cop to the plea, bringing up her daughter as the reason to do so. Janet acquiesces.
Zach faces the woman who murdered his son Ethan. He manages to shake loose a little compassion and guilt from Janet for her indirect actions that caused such a senseless death. *How compassionate... *
Janet reassesses, takes stock.
Ryan senses a malicious darkness to the secretive Greg, and gets his dander up.
In the aftermath of Zach rescuing her from a possible tumble off the roof of Fusion, Kendall recognizes his good work. Yet, she cannot shake the deep outrage at what he did and kept from her. Throughout this emotional battle, Kendall’s love for Zach cannot be squelched completely. ***BARF***
Kendall seeks some sort of wisdom on the matter of her unborn baby, her indecision about it, through Zach.
Zach gives Kendall affirmation as a loving mother.
Greg does a number on Kendall, to sway her to view Ryan in a darker, threatening light.
He’s a doctor, and an adoption specialist, WTF?! Kendall doesn’t know what to do, how to act when Dr. Greg Madden all of a sudden presents to her a couple willing to adopt her unborn baby.
This preemptive attack sets off Ryan’s radar bigtime, which he relays to Kendall.
Kendall doesn’t pay much mind to Ryan’s radar.
Ryan strongly petitions a new ob-gyn for Kendall. This Greg person is taking her pregnancy too far.
To wit: Greg supposedly checks Julia out, as she hopes to procreate on her own. Nope, he lets her down firmly with a dire diagnosis of infertility.
Julia falls apart in front of Ryan at such a note of finality.
Not to worry, Erica’s on the case. Okay, not such a heartening thought.
Erica has Greg over for tea and deathknell.
Greg meets up with Josh for a chat, but he’s not feeling 100 percent.
Erica bids her leave to check on Jackson.
Jack detects an Erica plot afoot, but what?
Myrtle also suspects Erica of getting into some mischief.
Greg clutches at his chest. Josh drops the ego act.
Livia offers Jack fresh insight into the Lily and Jonathan situation.
Jack and Lily are able to get where the other is coming from.
Jonathan seeks out Julia’s help, so that maybe Lily can live her own life with or without him around. That he wants to boost Lily’s self-sufficiency tells Julia that Jonathan is a good man looking out for the young woman he cares deeply for. Awww...
The morning after, Aidan displays the behavior of a consummate gentleman for disoriented Erin, her first time and all.
Tad vouches for Aidan, as a solid catch, to Erin.
Aidan gives his thumbs-up to Di, as Tad’s match.
Next week: If at first she doesn’t succeed, Erica, try try again to expedite the demise of Dr. Greg Madden…
Amanda joins Fusion as a major staff member, but not every staff member welcomes her with open arms…
Greg and Dixie are acquainted, providing insight into the doctor’s next agenda. Watch these two fight, tit for tat…
Jeff’s coming back home (as rumored), which pleases Tad…
Greg works up Kendall into a lather, to Ryan’s detriment…
Kendall seeks insight in the midst of her confusion, with Zach…
Zach does the unlikely thing, he defends Ryan to Kendall…
Ryan takes charges when it comes to the fruit of his loins…
Julia finds Greg out for the liar he is, about her so-called infertility. This triggers an all-out investigation against Greg by her and Ryan…
David’s way of thinking puts Dixie off in the worst way. Nevertheless, David bargains with Dixie to remain in town, therefore buying his silence.
Purely speculation: OMG! Do you think Dixie’s and Tad’s baby, the one everybody thinks died, had been saved, then implanted into another woman…?
Alexa Havins (Babe) heard about the legend of Cady McClain (Dixie) in the entire time she’s been on AMC. Only recently has she had the good fortune of experiencing the legend personally, and oh, what a thrill. Havins has nothing but respect and awe for the award-winning, acting powerhouse.
The other week, Tanisha Lynn (Danielle) graced Wilmington, NC’s 59th annual Azalea Festival, as its queen. This honor graced her through the acquaintance of a former queen. The actress wasn’t sure about the honor at first, but finally agreed to show up and be her beautiful self.
The sorority group of Drexel’s Delta Zeta out-partied other college organizations in the first-ever ABC Daytime “Campus Invasion: Get Hooked And Win!” marketing competition. This group put on the best series of parties last fall/winter, drawing attention (and numbers) to AMC, the soap opera—standing out from the crowd of over 60 contenders—with its “Avenue of the Stars” theme. They made it like a red carpet event, encouraging discussion of AMC afterwards. The top winners got to party with the real ABC Daytime soap stars from AMC and GH on March 17. Footage from this party will air on the network during daytime drama programming, for the week of April 10.
Well. He did it. He fulfilled his career wish of performing in a Broadway musical. Jacob Young (JR) is set to appear in Disney’s Beauty And The Beast as Lumiere (the singing candle), starting May 9, for about 10 weeks only at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on 205 West 46th Street, NY City. The only days Young will not appear are Wednesdays due to his AMC obligations. Beauty And The Beast passed its 12th Broadway anniversary April 18, approaches its 5,000th performance June 20 and distinguishes itself as the 6th longest-running Broadway musical ever. **YAAY** R U going Adrianna?
Vincent Irizarry (David) is quite the massage aficionado. He knows his Swedish (not a fan) from his shiatsu… and pampers himself regularly every month.
Jeff Branson (Jonathan) didn’t have that great of a time playing a psycho earlier on in his AMC career. He’s talking about a specific scene with Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee), where she realizes her OJ has been tampered with and lets it fly. Only, she kept letting it fly on his crotch in take after take, until the OJ crusted over in the jeans he had to keep wearing take after take through to the next morning.
Connie Fletcher (Erin) will hanker for the delicious, textured cupcakes from Manhattan’s West Village, Magnolia Bakery. So will lots of other fans, Fletcher said, adding that the lines are tremendous.
I apologize for how long this post is...
