JULIA BARR OFF AMC
"It was gracious of them to offer recurring, but I said, 'It's been a great run and that's the way I would like it to end.' I had pretty much made up my mind to leave before that.... I would love to have stayed, but you want to leave when you feel like it's time to leave. I have had so much fun on this show and feel so fortunate to have been part of it for 30 years...With Jill Larson and Tonya Pinkins going to revurring this year, I was pretty sure this was going to be the time to say so long. [Recurring offer] wasn't unexpected. I would have had to be sort of deaf, dumb and blind. It's just a sign of the times; the [budgetary] bottom line is the bottom line and that affects everything...Over the past few years, and the past year in particular, I haven't been involved in the show that much. It's a natural choice at this point...I'm not being disloyal to the show or to the longtime fans. I'm just ready to move on. I haven't been a free agent in a long time, so it's an exciting time for me - which doesn't mean I won't miss the camaraderie and the connection, not only to the fans, but to the people I've been working with for all this time...I've had great talks with my agent about potential things on the horizon, but we'll see about that after the new year. For now I'm just laying low."
DIXIE'S KATE EXPECTATIONS DASHED ON AMC
DNA tests in, Emma not Kate. "It's deeply depressing," adds McClain. Dixie is shattered by the news and when David boasts about how he set her and Tad up for this fall, their confrontation is filled with "violence, rage, tears [and] more lies." Dix once again comes face-to-face with David after a "very tender" encounter with Tad and David further twsists the knife. He tells Dixie that Krystal is carrying Tad's baby, which is the truth - does she believe him? "Yes and no," his claim "seems to hold some weight" since he didn't see T/K "doing the nasty." As for Annie and Emma? "It's not a full relief yet...She still has to prove that she is Emma's biological mother." She better hurry: "Emma is taken into foster care and she stands to lose her baby for good."
Vincent [David] last airs on November 28.
VCR ALERTS
On Monday, November 20, the tension between Jack and Erica escalates. "Jack loves his wife devotedly," notes [never-going-to-be-fired, sigh] Head Writer Megan McTavish. "However, when Erica gets stubborn and does things that Jack can't go along with...That has caused trouble in the past." David drops a major bombshell on Kendall on Tuesday, November 21.
