GH's Lucky & Elizabeth: D-I-V-O-R-C-E!
It's finally over for Elizabeth and Lucky this week on GH, when the couple calls "time of death" on their failing marriage.
"Elizabeth comes home and Lucky says 'We need to talk,'" sets up Rebecca Herbst. "Elizabeth knows by his tone that it's not good. Lucky tells her that love shouldn't be this hard and how it's best that they end their marriage now, before they hurt each other."
Jason's baby mama doesn't put up a fight. "She knew it was headed toward this," shrugs Herbst. "Elizabeth hasn't been happy in the marriage, and she and Lucky are not in love."
While Lucky leaves to break the news to Nikolas and Emily, Elizabeth contacts Diane to handle the divorce. "Obviously, this is very emotional and hard on Elizabeth," admits Herbst. "But she puts up this strong front that she'll be fine, that this is what's best for the kids."
When Emily suggests that Jason's support might be best for Liz, Elizabeth insists "that is not an option," says Herbst. "Elizabeth confides that she would be happy if she was with Jason, but her children's lives would be at risk. That would only make her end up hating herself and hating Jason, and she doesn't want that."
So Elizabeth resolves to raise her sons alone, packing her bags to move out after she and Lucky break the news of their separation to Cameron. But before she hits the road, Elizabeth and Lucky have it out one last time.
"Lucky's unhappy that Elizabeth didn't waste any time getting an attorney and that she picked Jason's," explains Herbst. "So he goes ahead and hires Alexis, which makes Elizabeth furious. One, he didn't even talk to her about it, and two, Alexis is Sam's mother - the woman Lucky's sleeping with! What started out to be a very simple, amicable divorce is now a nightmare," declares Herbst.
RIP, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer.

LIZ WALKS OUT
With Lucky in her past, will Liz seek a future with Jason?
After a long and bumpy ride, it seems to be the end of the road for GH's Lucky and Liz when they agree its time for a divorce. But with Lucky sharing Sam's bed and Liz keeping the biggest secret of all, it looks as if getting out of this marriage won't be as simple as saying "I do... want a divorce!"
Unhappy Endings
As the week begins, Jason fills Liz in on everything Sam's done... and admits that he loves both Jake and his mommy! Across town, Lucky gets marital advice from Lulu and Emily, who suggest he get out before any more damage can be done. Once the estranged couple stop talking to others and begin speaking with one another, they reach a painful decision: Its time to divorce. "It's a terrible thing that we've had to cross this path," Says GV. "Marriage takes work, and at this point in time, their priorities have changed. They've grown apart, and the value of what a marriage is was somehow lost along the way."
The Battle Begins
As Liz packs up her stuff and moves out, her soon to be ex has second thoughts. But further discussion convinces them that divorce is the best move. "The effort was made to reach out, maybe it wasn't enough," Says GV. "They've changed tremendously, and now it's too late." Learning of the split, Carly tells Jason that no matter what happens, she won't sit back and let him be with Liz.
Diane finds herself with a new client when Liz asks her to handle the divorce, but when Lucky gets a glimpse of the paperwork - and especially the section dealing with custody of the kids- he asks Alexis to take over the case."No matter what, those boys will always be his family," says GV. "No harm will ever be brought to them... Lucky will see to that." Soon enough, the question of who will handle the divorce - Alexis or Diane- becomes yet another thing for the Bickersons to quarrel about. Alexis gets a little extra added ammunition upon learning that Lucky has been sleeping with her daughter!
Although Nikolas and Emily urge their friends to find a way to dissolve the marriage without the help of Diane and Alexis, that becomes increasingly unlikely as Liz and Lucky each stand their ground. But if things get nasty, will Liz play the ultimate trump card by revealing that Jake is Jason's child?
Revolving Door :

GH's Nancy Lee Gran is breaking from tradition and doing a fan event in New York on Oct. 20. "It's a great place to meet fans - and my daughter, Kate, and I can see yet another musical," she laughs. But don't expect to stick to soap talk. "We dish about everything: Brad and Angelina, Jen, anything we can think of. And no one's allowed to repeat what was said, so I can't get in trouble later!"
After working 900 hours as an actor on GH, and an actor and director on GH:NS, Steve Burton put in for a much-deserved vacation. First stop? A visit to the Nashville home of former neighbors Melissa and Scott Reeves. "They're doing great," reports Burton.
