Sabine Singh (Greenlee II) isn’t like most people. Which probably earned her such rave reviews from the screen-testing PTB as the recast Greenlee way before she made her mark on-screen as the kinder, gentler, quirkier improvement. The August 4th-born beauty – daughter of a Pakistani Maharaja and an Austrian/U.S. immigrant teacher – has always lived her life open to adventures, new people, new experiences and service. It was during an inspirational 2007 New Year’s with pals in Martinique that Singh decided to abandon her acting – and the run of the mill bikini scenes as a Dawson’s Creek-type ingénue – to help those less fortunate in other countries, like Sri Lanka and Turkey. To that end, she realized she needed more higher education to achieve a social work master’s degree from Columbia, and a steady-paying acting gig to help pay for it. After dismissing soaps as not “arty” enough before, Singh tried out for the Greenlee recast after her manager suggested the audition, thinking if she got it, it would only last for as long as her degree was in hand. AMC turned out to be a blessing, and a diversion, in disguise. It’s “the best thing that ever happened to me. Except for, like, those times that you meet someone that you’re so blessed to meet … and my dog.” Taking on Greenlee hasn’t been without some stumbling blocks, like her tendency to be mean and say some sexist things to Annie (she made sure the writers revised a recent, sexist remark to be more general), or her inability to know when no from Ryan means no, the relationship is dead in the water. After she completes three years with the soap, the arty actress who never saw herself as “a pinup girl… [or] model” is capable of doing just about anything. But you can bet it won’t be middle of the road conventional. –Soap Opera Digest, “Singh’s Song” by Mara Levinsky, September 25, 2007
In the bio and resume section of every soap celebrity interview, there are the usual born here, raised there, went to school, discovered acting bug, hit the audition circuits, blah blah usual. Not in Singh’s vocabulary. Nothing about her seems blah blah usual. She’s a singular sensation, whatever she endeavors to do—be it learning to fly planes, she’s a certified pilot, along with her mom, appearing on Comedy Central’s Strangers With Candy as the inspirational darling of Colbert Report’s Stephen Colbert and writing partner Paul Dinello (as Yasmine Sarong), or trekking to an ashram for her 10-day vow of silence every summer.
Besides original and different, Singh comes off as genuine, warm-hearted and deeply appreciative of her surroundings. She shares a common pal with Cameron Mathison (Ryan), Entourage actress Emmanuelle Chriqui. Nine years before Singh and Mathison would meet in a screen-test and on-screen, Chriqui and her significant other Lionel pressed them to meet in a blind date, sure that the two would match perfectly. Merely the recommendation of Shriqui and Lionel (Mathison’s buddy) was enough for Singh, because these were good, decent folk, and she figured if they knew Mathison from way back and liked him enough as her date, how could she go wrong? But then Mathison wound up dating Jennifer Esposito, broke up with her, met and married Vanessa, the mother of his two kids. So the blind date never happened.
Sabine Singh (Greenlee) and Alicia Minshew (Kendall) developed their own warm bond while tackling the recast revisit and the friendship on-screen, to positive effect—due in large part to Minshew’s kindness (and, IMHO, Singh’s integrity as a human being of worth). Singh isn’t hesitant to sing Minshew’s praises, considering the circumstances. “I have a crush on her in real life. She’s been so fabulous to me, such an angel, and that means even more now that I understand how close she is to Rebecca [Budig, ex-Greenlee].” –Soap Opera Digest, “Singh’s Song” by Mara Levinsky, September 25, 2007
Alicia Minshew (Kendall) has a tough load on her hands. And it shows. She has received both positive and negative press in the form of feedback from co-stars, bosses, critics, soap writers and fans about her current story – almost losing two children at the same time. The positive feedback praised the actress’s depth of maternal understanding, which Minshew attributed to somehow being able to tap into what it must be like for her mother to love her children, and what she’ll go through when she has children of her own. The negative feedback, however, comes from some fans who have taken to sending her hate mail. They’re reacting to what’s happening on-screen now, with Kendall refusing to bond with a newborn, preemie Ian, and refusing to see to toddler Spike’s deafness. To that, Minshew promised better in store in her character’s reaction, and asked all the fans to be patient. “I can tell you that (Kendall) will begin bonding with Ian and will realize that she has been neglecting him. Part of the reason is that she feels like Spike (and his current condition) is her fault. And, she is deathly afraid she will or she has hurt Ian. She's being driven by fear and guilt and she wants to protect Spike and Ian.” –Soaps.com
Usually it’s the guys who imagine themselves in Brad Pitt’s place. But Chrishell Stause (Amanda) wanted in on that action, too, so she could live his exciting life for a little bit, and “check myself out naked in the mirror all day [laughs]!” –Soap Opera Digest, September 25, 2007

Because of the decision from higher-ups, the original Babe and the recast Babe had to film a scene together, one after the other. Both Alexa Havins and Amanda Baker did their parts, as scripted, but AMC co-stars who have grown to love Havins as Babe and as one of the family, were rattled by the seamless display. TPTB supposedly had to come in and calm some of them down. Gee, it couldn’t have been that much of a surprise. Supposedly Havins was previewing her exit for quite some time, with at least one, unnamed cast member admitting to the outgoing actress’s inquiries made about gyms in California.
Don’t worry, guys, Tad and Julia will discover Kathy is Kate. The fallout from this revelation, which Adam is privy to, will be widespread. Here’s hoping TPTB don’t blow it, like they did under Megan McTavish’s head-writing lapse.
