Tad seems destined for a romance with Julia—what with the Kate/Kathy connection—but co-head writers James Harmon Brown and Barbara Esensten said they would like to see what’s there between Tad and AMC’s new “It” girl, Hannah, first. A lot of AMC’s focus lately has been centered around Kendall, Greenlee, Zach, Annie and Ryan, but by December, characters younger than them will flourish with the introduction of the garage rock band in the lives of Colby and Sean, the co-head writers previewed.
You never know what you’ll open up and read about in a Rachael Ray magazine. In the November issue, Susan Lucci (Erica) opens up a day in her busy life, with an emphasis on the healthy foods she eats. For most of her hectic day on AMC, Lucci sticks to low-or-complex-carb, low-fat, high protein meals, such as Kashi cereal for breakfast (she doesn’t avoid sugar in her coffee though), and a turkey wrap, minus the wrap for lunch from the cafeteria (most co-stars call in their orders in advance, because they all have such little time to eat). It is only when she goes home to her chef-tastic husband Helmut (whose services were once requested of by the White House at age 25) that Lucci can relax a little. “He makes wonderful sole with Cajun spices, lemon and garlic. I put a few mandarin oranges on top, and we have carrots or spinach on the side. We often have Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches for dessert, but our guiltier pleasure is Graeter’s ice cream from Cincinnati—someone sent us a whole case as a gift. The Buckeye Blitz flavor is amazing.” Going over her diet, it’s no mystery how Lucci keeps herself so thin, but it does make me wanna run out and gorge myself on fattening crap.
Voted one of the most beautiful women in daytime by Soap Opera Digest editors (Oct. 16, 2007), Alicia Minshew (Kendall) said her idea of beauty has morphed since she first started out. Before, she’d be all about the glam. But now, hunkering down at home with boyfriend Richie in her nightgown, face washed and clean, that’s been her ultimate beauty moment. The highest compliment Minshew could hear right about now is how she looks so much like Vivien Leigh’s Scarlett O’Hara from the movie Gone With The Wind. “And right up there with that is being told I look like Susan Lucci [Erica]. Hello! The woman is gorgeous. To be told I look like those two women is beyond flattering.”

Eileen Herlie’s (Myrtle) ill health has kept her from AMC for a few weeks, but she’ll soon come back.
There’s a rumor going around that a major, popular, former character or characters will brighten up AMC soon with a triumphant resurgence. Soap Opera Digest’s people suspect this could point directly to the entire Santos clan, in answer to the Nov. Sweeps reveal of Julia’s Kathy as Tad’s Kate. Plus, to spread the youth demo seed around more than has been.
Two hot young studs on AMC may bail—one of ‘em to pursue better deals, the other already facing a tempting one on a bigger horizon. A hot big-time leading actress on this show may also bail, without much notice, to take over a recast role on a rival soap. If she bails, hinted Ravenbeauty on October 7th, it’ll be bad for the soap and the network: “If she jumps ship, she will not be coming back cuz this one will leave ABC furious (and rightfully so). They are not pleased with the rumor at all (which has only made the rounds backstage until now).”
