Hey Gang,
Before I begin I wanted to take this opportunity to convey my deepest condolences upon hearing the news regarding Hunter Tylo's 19 year old son Michael. The only son of actor Michael Tylo (Ex Matt/AMC) and Hunter Tylo (Robin./AMC) was pronounced dead last night at 11.55 PM. His drowning is under investigation as we speak but I can only imagine the pain and suffering the Tylo's are enduring right now. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Tylo family this evening.
I also wanted to thank all of you once again for the lovely birthday wishes you sent me last week. That meant a great deal to me and helped to make my birthday a truly special day. As you know I have been doing this column for close to 5 years taking only two weeks off (including last week). That's not typical as you have probably guessed. Paid columnists take off more time then I do and do so often throughout the year. My schedule is getting more and more hectic yet I always try to make time for my love of ABC daytime. It's why I even began doing this because I was first and foremost a fan. I would copy and paste scoops found all over the Internet as well as relaying hot rumors I collected along the way. It was always very important to me to give proper credit to everyone that provided each and every part of my column (a tradition that continues because it's the right thing to do). Eventually and miraculously my column caught the eye of people behind the scenes and I began getting bits and pieces from them. That has also grown as they have given me many wonderful casting scoops throughout the years that proved to be right on the money. Tips and scoops I will always be grateful for. They are not always 100% because they can't be simply put. Things change...idea's change almost daily in this business but I am grateful for every morsel. I wanted to thank them and I want to thank you for all your support and friendship over the years. It's been a bumpy ride at times but a ride I would take again. I will do my level best to try and keep bringing this to you each and every week however keep in mind that I do plan to take more breaks like the rest of the world. I work 7 days a week essentially. Most people take the weekends and just kick back (I can't do that if I am to provide SOC with their weekly scoops for the entire ABC line up and get this column out to you each weekend all in the span of two days). Both are done over the weekend and both are extremely time consuming. I need more breathing room so please keep that in mind if I decide to skip a column now and then (even if I were paid to do all of this each which I am not, I think I would still need to take some time like everyone else). Again your support means a lot to me so thank you.....
With a younger leading man exiting AMC and another leading lady set to go, the show already has a back up plan in place. A favorite is set to return however there's a price to pay and that price could be the final nail in one younger leading ladies coffin. One major leading lady has ABC in a tizzy right now. If this phenomenally popular Pine Valley vixen goes, the show is at a loss as to what to do. One camp behind the scenes says she should be replaced in 6 months while the other camp feels it would be disastrous. They are offering her the sun and the moon but she may want to take her chances with the galaxy instead. She's hoping for an Eden Riegel open door type policy that says if it doesn't work out, she can come home again. Will she get the same deal or will ABC cut it's losses and recast such a major character? In the wake of NuBabe and NuGreenlee, they may do just that.
Wacky days are here again as the delightfully insane Janet from another planet makes yet another return to Pine Valley. The incredibly talented Kate Collins is returning to the show around Thanksgiving. We'll get a pop in by Lee Meriwether (Ruth Martin) and Jill Larson (Opal) respectively (these once a year appearances will let us know the characters have not died....God Bless ABC)......
I told you months ago that a certain younger leading lady is indeed set to leave OLTL despite protests to the contrary which is why we are now seeing Langston front and center. This was denied however I am being told that nothing has changed (which I tend to believe considering what we are watching unfold in front of our eyes). This younger leading lady has never struck gold with the fans so ABC is not hot to hang onto this one. She will exit the show as planned (keep in mind that they all deny that their leaving whether it's true or not). Leaving a certain leading man behind may not be the wise thing to do if history is any indication.
A major exit will leave OLTL fans burning up the phone lines at ABC but an olive branch will be extended. I've hinted at this for almost two months and no I cannot blurt out this person's name. If I had a team of attorney's and got paid to do this job, I might be willing to take on a little heat but neither is true so you'll have to live with riddles (riddles that thankfully 90% seem to get without making me compromise myself). We do have a few nice consolation prizes in exchange but that may not be enough to calm this crowd down.
I told you months ago that Britney would be sent off to boarding school leaving Langston as Dorian's new pet project. Dorian will have a new focus in her life after a tragedy takes place that leaves her needing someone to dote on again. Get ready for a very amusing twist when fans learn who Jared's mother and father are. It will explain A LOT! The delightful Tuc Watkins (David) returns to wreak havoc on Llanview once again and just when you thought you'd seen it all. Get ready cuz the fun is about to begin.....
Five weeks back I mentioned that a certain Llanview lovely was thinking of jumping ship but that she might not be able to take the plunge due to things happening in her personal life. With something special anchoring her to the set coupled with an amazing contract including lots of extras, just as suspected this damsel will be sticking around for a while (and no I am not talking about Kathy Brier ...ahem).
The growing closeness between Clint and Nora will leave Dorian in a tizzy. Dorian will also make it her mission to get to know Charlie once he's settled into Llanview. Viki and Charlie's relationship gets kicked up a notch before all hell breaks loose leaving Viki to make an important decision. Ron Carlivati has delivered on many levels. We'll never get perfection folks but what we are getting is a chance to see our vets in real live stories of their own once again. They won't be in supporting roles this winter. Instead they all have feature stories which in itself is pure magic considering what we have had to endure for over 4 years now. It's wonderful watching Hillary, Cat, and the rest of OLTL's neglected gold get polished up once again.
As I told you two weeks ago, someone will soon die in Port Charles leaving incredible grief in their wake (fans will not be pleased either). Lulu has quite the effect on the elder Zacharra. Spinelli and Georgie get thisclose leaving Lulu strangely annoyed. Patrick might just step up to the plate for Robin (and that I'm not going let myself get involved thing goes right out the window in nine months). The show is playing with the idea right now...nothing set in stone. Logan tells Lulu goodbye and another death rocks an already shaky Port Charles (the killer is not who they seem to be). Someone very surprising is related to the Zacharra family. This little tidbit will shake the town to it's very foundation!
OK guys, onto the scoops and spoils so pull up a chair and get ready to sit a spell.....
