I found this interesting. It dredges up the SS/RB debacle again but a quite a bit is about Jeff. Who know's if it's true but I thought I'd share it.

Hi, I’m a guy who watches soaps because of my mom. I’m writing this because my Mom, Marquette, ran a soap website, Soap Dish over ten years ago. You may remember her; it was apparently the first site to correctly report and stand by the story on the first departure of Eva LaRue as Maria Santos. My mom prides herself on being good with analysis of information. She made an analysis about what is happening on AMC and so far what she told me is right. She told me there was an issue with Jeff Branson before it became news. She has shared a lot with me. This is a counter to the apparent unwillingness of soap sites and magazines to go after the real story because it is there. They are afraid they might lose their access to these shows so they are letting this story go. Getting the story is the reason my mom started Soap Dish. Here is some of what she has pieced together. She has so much more.
Very clearly there was fallout between the actors and TPTB. Some actors were offended by the way Rebecca Budig was brought back and the treatment of Sabine Singh in the promotion of Budig’s return. This comes on top of the manipulations to the storylines made by the relatively new head writers in the absence of the writers who normally handle the day-to-day writing of their stories.
This all came to a head with Branson’s departure and the release of Brent Webber as Sean. TPTB believed they could do without the Sean-Colby story, but the Jonathan-Lily storyline was supposed to come back in full force due to Ava and Richard. This is the story promised to Branson and Leven Rambin and to the fans. It was foreshadowed in December of 2006 when Lily spoke to Jonathan, in the year-end credits for 2006, and in Jonathan’s dream in 2007. Some actors are less than amused by what has happened to their friends and to their own stories and have expressed a desire to leave at the end of their contracts or sooner.
TPTB are now trying desperately to cover their butts. They continue to try to gloss over the “real Greenlee” debacle (Budig’s appearance on The View) and to revamp the show. This is out of necessity; more damage control than any real creative vision. But how do you get rid of Branson & company and undo their era? Easy-- you just erase it. Hence, Ryan’s four-year amnesia. It is doubtful any actor who came onto the show in the last four years will be there by the summer of 2008, except possibly for those who were hired within the past few months."
