Did eradicating the tumor really solve all of Jonathan's problems?
Jonathan must feel a great deal of rage against Patrick, his late, abusive father.
It's been evident post-surgery that Jonathan has difficulty controlling his temper as we witnessed when Jon went off on Kendall verbally.
Jonathan spoke to Lily about how he didn't realize how hard it would be to be the person he's supposed to be after the tumor was removed.
And Jonathan's lingering pain over the abuse he was subjected to has also been evident. Jonathan panicked when the doctor mentioned rehab near home, thinking "home" meant Des Moines. He was visibly saddened when remembering a childhood incident of having angered Patrick by laughing too loud. The pain of what he's suffered is still deeply rooted in Jonathan.
I hope we see Jonathan getting the help he needs to come to grips with all that he's suffered. The life skills class is great, but Jonathan needs therapy too.
What will Jonathan be like when he's fully recovered post-surgery?
I think that Jonathan will be a good man with a dark side, much as he's always been, but better able to control his impulses.
