Hmmm. I never hated Jonathan, even when he was at his worst. I felt sorry for him when he was used by Kendall to hurt Ryan. I wanted Jon and Maggie to have a chance, but alas, she was bi and he was tumorized, as well as traumatized. But Jon was the kind of villian, much like David, who I could root for and keep on liking.
The rumors that his demise was not all it seemed were very believable, so I waited.
Then Ryan rescued Jon, fixed him and brought him home.
I really like NuJonathan. His recovery though has been glacial, at least in soaptime, which we all know is equated with the speed of light. However, I have heard and I do believe that his recovery and his venture into teenybopperland is not merely a stepping stone. Do I think they can keep Jon prepubescent forever? No, of course not. But I do think that certain factions on the show are very happy that Jon is stuck stuttering and in kiddieland.
Now if Jon comes out the other side as good Jon, with that sexy voice and looks around for a suitable mate, what does that do to the balance of power on the show? Hmmmm. It seems to me that things are shaping up to be one major star, sharing a bit of time with a another male star and the rest can go begging.
I hope I am wrong. I hope Jeff does not get disillusioned with his treatment on AMC. I just have sad and bitter experience with this kind of behind the scenes jockeying for position. You say, they can't do that. He's poplular. But if they want to, they will.
I hope this whole post is viewed as just a bunch of hooey in the next few months. I think JB brings a hot spark to AMC. Too bad he is so muted now by his storyline. Even in kiddieland, his acting shines.
