Niki, I've read the book and other than the company they are suing it follows the book pretty closely. Too bad you already saw the movie because the book is actually MUCH better, but only of you don't know what's coming. I enjoyed the book a lot.
If anyone enjoys John Grisham, one of my favorite books of his is The Testament. I would LOVE to see something happen on AMC like what happens to the characters in this book.

The books are always far better than the movies, I can only think of one or two cases where the opposite is the case.
You're scared of hobbits?!? They are just little people with big feet that like to eat. LOL. Really that's all there is to it. (I've read them all, I can explain bits to you if you want). But if you can't get into the hobbit, I wouldn't recommend reading the LOTR series then. It's faaaaaar more complicated and difficult to read. The Hobbit is actually aimed for a younger audience than LOTR.

I was forced to read it over the summer. I don't think I have to read LOTR for a few more years. Jennifer Crusie, Nora Roberts and Linda Howard are more my style. Hairy dwarfs I can live without I've only got 40 pages or so of Runaway Jury left, so hopefully I'll be done by tonight! Thanks for your help guys!

I remember having to read The Odyssey in school and hating it. Now I appreciate it more but I could not get into it back then.

Yeah The Hobbit is meant to be a kid's story, but it's also the prequel for LOTR...it helps to read it first before trying the trilogy. The trilogy is actually a tough read, particularly the first book. Once you get past the first 100 pages then it gets far more interesting and involving. I only read them once (but I adore the movies), but I know several people who are big fans of them. And they will tell you a hobbit is NOT a dwarf. LOL.

Ok, I'm lost! I think I read the book but can't remember anything about it. Now that you mentioned the movie being about tobacco I think I saw that too. I'm old, can't remember shit! I sort of like John Cusak but it's a take him or leave him kind of thing. Loved LOTR's which surprised me because I thought it would be too much of a guy flick for me and ended up loving all of them. I like hobbits, what can I say!!

I think the only John Grisham books I read were A Time to Kill, The Firm and The Client. He's a fine writer but I can only read so many books about lawyers. LOL. They all make decent movies though.

I finished the book but I need help from those who have read it and remember. ****spoiler******
At the end when Marlee is trading stocks, what was the purpose? I'm pretty sure she somehow made the tobacco companies lose more money but I'm not sure how. Wall Street isn't really my area of expertise. Help???
