Has anyone read Runaway Jury by John Grisham? I have to read it for school and was wondering if anyone here read it. It's got too many characters for me and seems a little complicated. I also had to read the Hobbit. WTF is a hobbit? A dwarf with hairy feet?

I haven't read it, Niki, but I've read others by him. Also, I don't know what a hobbit is supposed to be, except CREEPY!!!

It gets a little dull sometimes so I did the typical desperate teen thing and bought the movie. Too bad it's about a lawsuit against a gun company while the book is about a tobacco company. I ended up wasting an hour and a half on the movie when I could have been reading the damn book. Damn you, Hollywood! Why can't you help me cheat?

I've read runaway jury...and the hobbit. I'm not a huge fan of john grisham...but I loved the hobbit! I'm a nerd like that though.
As for changing the plot...the movie did so to stay current. There's already been a huge lawsuit against big tobacco that resulted in a billion (yes billion) dollar settlement. Therefore, by the time the movie came out, it would have been a moot point. Suing a gun manufacturer is "fresher" idea.....

Suing a gun manufacturer is "fresher" idea..... I had a hard time getting through the hobbit. I'm not into fantasy stuff and I'm scared of the idea of hobbits. And the Runaway Jury movie, the only reason I bought it was to help me get more interested in the book. Then they go and change the plot on me! Plus, I can't stand John Cusack. You owe me ten bucks, buddy! Or at least a decent film.

I hated Must Love Dogs. The book was good but I think Diane Lane should have ended up with Dermot Mulroney . Anybody see Wedding Date with Dermot and Debra Messing? LOVE It

Niki, you don't like John Cusack?!?! Okay, have you seen "Say Anthing?" That might change your opinion of him. It's a brilliant movie.
A few Lloyd Dobler moments for you, Niki. "She's gone. She gave me a pen. I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen."
"I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that. "
