I think the police must unwittingly be the cause of a whole load of accidents . Whenever I see a patrol car I turn into the world`s worst driver . My steering goes all shaky , i start going at 15 miles an hour & slowing down at lights if I suspect the green is going to change to amber . I was read my rights once in a little English Police Station . My MOT certificate had lapsed for a few weeks & when i went to show my documents ( for broken wing mirror )I remember he asked me what my profession was . When I said " Pre school and Infant" teacher in my best breathy , innocent voice , he said " I am SO sorry about this . I feel really bad cautioning you !" Luckily , I wasn`t prosecuted but it was rather thrilling!

Oh, Skye,
That always happens to me, too. And I agree, I think the Highway Patrol are greatly responsible for assinine driving! As soon as one is spotted on the freeway everyone slows down to about twenty-three miles per hour and then immediately hunches over their steering wheel. While I continue to be oblivious and still sing to Jumping Jack Flash or Brown Sugar at the top of my lungs until I finally look in my rearview mirror and see the red and blue lights flashing behind me whereupon, a) I first wet my pants but continue singing and then b) turn off the radio causing me to swerve between lanes. I am always relieved (HAR!) that the cops continue to drive by me in pursuit of, well, probably donuts, while they play with their lights and laugh hysterically at all the chaos they are creating.
They should really stay off the highways. They'd probably catch a lot more people improperly backing out of Denny's on any given day.

Very true . If they hung around any residential street here in Brisbane they would have such easy pickings . Everyone goes 20 miles over the speed limit ( & they don`t slow down for strollers or kids on scootrs either ). At 37 , I have turned into the mad little old lady who shakes her fist at speeding young hoodlums! Trixie You`re right I reckon they do it on purpose . They look very smug when they speed off eventually ., leaving huddled together choas in their wake.
