For fun... what's the craziest thing you've ever bought? I know everyone HAS to have had a moment where they bought something on an impulse and later wondered what they were thinking.
My very first experience with Ebay, I bought a DVD of the first Shrek. I didn't really read the description well, and thought Ebay must be the coolest thing around because I got a brand new DVD, still wrapped in original packaging for dirt cheap.
When it came in the mail, the cover was in Japanese! ;D you could still switch the language and view it in English, but there for a minute I was sweating it. Now, when I occasionally buy from Ebay, I read and re-read the description!!
Your turn!

Well, Aden must be sleeping tonight! Okay, I (well, not "I", but my husband) bought a Bowflex while unable to sleep one night. My clothes are in excellent shape by the way. They hang by various parts of the Bowflex while flagrantly showing off their buff arms and svelte torsos. I hate my clothes. They constantly mock me. I'm thinking they might not be so smug when I stuff them in a garbage bag and throw them at the Good Will shack.

I don't know if this qualifies as a gadget...but my husband bought an old smoker to fix up and take to football games. Something tells me we won't be using it very often.

Trixie, I've ALWAYS wondered how much those BoFlex's are!!! They only tell you about how much it will cost a month, but I've never heard the total price. How expensive is that clothes hanger, anyway?? ;D ;D

i bought one of those overpriced but well used on the food network microderm long grater type thingys. well - it had a nice cover on it. i should of started out by saying i am a HUGE HUGE clutz. i have been known to walk into walls (i don't walk into them - they move). so i'm excited about this kewl gadget. so i was zesting something on it and zested 4 of my fingers. the thing is sharp as he!!. and it's not like grating your knuckle on a normal grater. oh-no. this grater is one evil product. the skin on my knuckles weren't just "greated" - they were gone seriously!!!! took a bit to heal. skin had to grow back. and of course it was my left hand. well, the overpriced gadget (after being thown against the wall causes i was in PAIN) has spent the rest of it's damn life at the dump. emeril, rachael ray - have fun.

Liz, I'm embarassed to say that at the time of purchase, it became a THOUSAND DOLLAR CLOTHES HANGER. Yep. A thousand dollars. a thousand freaking dollars. One thousand canolis. A thousand clams. I have nightmares involving that Bowflex. And I never win. I really hate that thing. However, I DID buy an oyster knife years ago and it has gotten many good years of use not involving clothing hanging off of it. So that was one of MY better purchases. My husband still stays up too late and I'm always scared to get up in the morning and find out what wonderful product he has purchased while I was asleep. Thank goodness we weren't married in the Seventies. I would have a collection of Ginzu knives and Slim Whitman albums.

Does a craptastical car count? Way back when my hubby-to-be at the time spent all the $$ we had on a car. there were a few 'minor' problems with it... In winter the doors would freeze shut. The highbeams were on permamently. the front seat was on this weord tilt so the driver was far from the wheel but the passanger pushed up against the dashboard. There was a huge hole in the floor of the trunk (well, there was no real floor for the trunk) etc, etc, etc. The best part was when the brakes would randomly quit working and you would just coast through intersections. That was fun.....

Well, Aden must be sleeping tonight! LOL!! ;D ;D He's sitting in the bounce seat right beside me going in and out of sleep. I'm trying to get him used to falling asleep without being held. It's not working too well tonight.

Oh I have one! About 10 years ago I bought one of those self facial things that run on batteries. It's supposed to give you a soothing facial right? The fricking things almost electrocutes you! Talk about pain!! It got thrown out the very same day! Never, EVER buy one of those things unless your into pain!

This one was from before she came out with anything, I think it was signature a or something like that.
