today i woke up at 1:30 from a stupid phone call with someone i didn't want to talk to. they wanted money for a good cause and i can't donate and then feel bad. usually i sleep thru the phone but i had just gone to the bathroom so i was in a semi-sleep state. i went to bed at 5:30-6:00am. i'm a 10 hour girl. once i get woken up - i'm up. ok - get your up charity, right? what about all the third shift workers out there?? is that fair to them?? now i'm up. chugging coffe cause i'm tired. have to do my yoga, promised kallie bbq chix on the grill etc. want to lay on the couch and do zip, zero, nada. ok, my sleeping habits aren't normal. but it is for a third shift worker. i wanted to go off on the poor lady on the phone. i ended up mumbling something to her - some apoligy - and hung up. now my day is a half awake daze with a coffee buzz!!!!! ok - let me guess. no one feels bad for me do they? ? that's ok - i wouldn't feel sorry for me either. i just thought i'd take it out on the thread instead of kallie!!!!!!

Hmmm.... Well, you get some pity for being hit up for money. I hate when the local cops start calling wanting donations. It's not hard to say no, though. They're pretty bad. They have no problem handing out tickets for speeding and parking violations but they suck at dealing with the important stuff like violent acts or robberies. Wimps But the sleep thing? You just keep rubbing that in don't you. That's okay. I'll just follow you from thread to thread bitching about how I have to get up at such an ungodly hour until you start to feel guilty. Unless you're too sleepy to recognize your conscious.....

hey sweeti - give me some credit. i don't sleep all night and day. i literally can't fall asleep at night. it has to do with the meds i take. so i still walk around like a zombie when i'm tired etc.
i wish i was partying all night and sleeping all day!!!!! the most exciting my life gets at night is cleaning!!!! and stores are open during the day, restaurants are open during the day etc.
you might not believe it but i'd rather wake up around 8 and have a normal day. i tease but trust me - i'm not bragging!!!! it really sucks if you think about it!!!!

I get calls every week from acertain charity that wants donations in the form of old clothes and other items we might otherwise throw in a garage sale. At first we donated a lot of stuff but sheesh! They call every week! Do they honestly think we buy THAT much stuff that we're tossing away "old" stuff after only a week?

Unless you're too sleepy to recognize your conscious..... I totally fell for the police contributions phone call . I was brand new to Texas and terrified by my inability to recognise stop signs & drive on the right ,so , when I heard a deep drawling voice say " Ma`m this is the ......." the prison doors clanged shut for me metaphorically . I was incoherent with relief when I realised why they were phoning & immediately pledged $50 ! Needless to say I was then on every charity hit list known to man & spent the remainder of the year making weasly excuses to firemen , paramedics , funds for ex patrol crossing ladies...... Now I live behind a wall & can lock my gate so get NO door to doors . Bliss! I now realise my natural state is that of a hermit.

this is good = k, i'm freakin 33. today at the fair the age guesser guessed me at 20. i won a big prize!! guy wanted to see my ID!!!! nice BUT..... my voice is young sounding (annoying) and i get a lot of calls asking if my mother is home. and i even had a couple people come to my door (i don't answer the door anymore because we don't have a peep hole and if someone doesn't call ahead o-well) but for both cases (phone or in person) i have been asked if my mother was home. perfect answer i give: i dunno - go to her house (or call her) and find out!!! hang up or close door. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I usually say, "I won't waste your time the answer is "no". I only donate to organizations I have pre-chosen." If you haven't registered for the National Do Not Call Registry for the US you should. It helps cut down on the amount of charities that will call and weed out the seedier cons. www.donotcall.gov/default.aspxQ&A: The National Do Not Call Registry Question: # 30. Are calls from political organizations or calls soliciting for charities covered?Political solicitations are not covered by the TSR at all, since they are not included in its definition of “telemarketing.” Charities are not covered by the requirements of the national registry. However, if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $11,000.

I get those calls from the police & firemen. I always tell the firemen I donate to my local fire department, of course they still ask for you to donate to them.

i'm actually a sucker - not for the phone people but at christmas time.........
last christmas we just escaped our homeless period. we were sleeping on an airmattress with no furniture etc. scrapping to eat but we were getting there. the people in our county who help children have a christmas were doing a stunt to raise money. well - kallie was on the list. i couldn't give her a christmas. so this guy is on the roof of a grocery store. he had been there for 2 days. they ask me for a donation. i had $20 - i went and bought some food. i had a little over a dollar left. so what do you think i did?? this idiot donated!!! i'm a bleeding heart tree hugger. i felt bad..........................
