Ugh! It was dreary and rainy and in the 50s today here. Yesterday was 85 and sunny (which I much prefer). That is typical Cincy weather this time of year. You don't know whether to wear your winter coat or shorts. Sometimes I do both in the same day. LOL

I remember my two texas summers Plat ! The thing that got me was the way the neighbourhood pool closed in August , leaving kids to come off the school bus in 100 plus heat with nowhere to swim!
If it is any consolation I read that women in Houston ( or elswhere in Texas ) have THE BEST skin because of all the humidity . At least you will keep your dewy youthfull good looks for longer!
Here in australia we are coming into summer and are not kitted out for it like you Texans . A lot of Aussies go all spartan `n stoic , ecshewing air conditioners for an open window breeze or a fan!
We are on a hill and get a lovely through breeze here and have AC upstairs but very few here in Brisbane have ducted air conditioning and it is rare in schools! My poor wee soul swelters under a ceiling fan in his class room!
When I think back to those lovely air conditioned multi story car parks...........

Oh the misery!! Hearing "summer" and "no air conditioning" in the same sentence is like hearing nails on a chalk board.

I know! i can`t quite believe it! At home in the UK we get 3 weeks of hot weather when everyone hangs out of windows sucking ice pops , all the time complaining about the temperature . Then we spend the next 49 weeks looking forward to our "summer " again . But here in Australia , we have a proper summer from October to April! Thank the lord we have a pool in the house we rent over here! I get a lot of friends who happen just to be " passing by " all suspiciously equipped with towels!
