OMG you guys this has been the week from hell. You name it and Aden is feeling it. Let's start with he's congested, the daycare thinks his throat is sore because he takes a couple sips off the bottle then cries and screams. Then he's frusterated because he's hungry and can't eat. He coughs, he sneezes... the pediatrician doesn't think his throat is sore though. They think it's because he's teething.
Which is another factor - the teeth hurt, which makes his head hurt and his ears hurt. He gnaws on everything he can find, especially his fists, but he's too young to hold a teether very well. And he won't take a pacifier because it hurts to suck. But he wants a pacifier so he cries about that too.
All week he's just been screaming in pain. I've tried EVERY trick I know. Trust me - everything. All I can do is alleviate some of the pain some of the time. He is at any point doped up on whatever baby medication I am allowed to give him because it's the only way he can eat anything or get any sleep - of which he gets approximately 1.5 hours collectively all day. He can't sleep so neither do we. He cries all. of. the. time.
By Tuesday night, I was so sleep deprived and stressed I actually sat on the kitchen floor in the dark and drank liquor. I'm almost out.
He's showing signs of getting a little better, but not great by any means.

first - adorable picture. i wish i could hug him. teething can be hell. but losing hair?? kallie didn't do that. i'm not sure what's up - if that's normal?
kallie didn't cut teeth until she was a couple months older. she was late on teeth!!!! but conner - a boy i babysat for during the first 2 years of his life (more recently) cut teeth early. i would literally hold the teethers in his mouth since he couldn't. i'm sure you tried it but thought i'd put my 2 cents in. from your list it looks like you tried everything.
if you need a time out take it. tell hubby you need to go in a quite room and relax for a good 1/2 hour. or take a nap. i still take time outs now when kallie gets out of hand. regroup and handle it better. i'm sure it's breaking your heart.
THE TRUTH: the calmer you are the calmer he'll be. he picks up your stress.
love ya hun

Thanks hun! I have tried holding the teethers for him. And it works for a minute too. He doesn't like them cold though. Off and on, chewing on the wet washrag helps. I like it when he'll take that because it keeps his face clean, ha ha! I tried to take a nap the other evening while my husband watched Aden for awhile and I was so stressed and fired up that I couldn't sleep.

sweeti you need to find time and a way to relax. reading? deep breathing while you concentrating on relaxing your body. ya know first relax you feet, then calves etc. might sound dumb but my main manic trigger is stress. i can't cope too well but that helps and it came from the doctors mouth!!
i hope he cuts that tooth fast!!!!!

It looks like you have tried just about everything. The only thing I could add is maybe a vaporizer for the congestion. It seemed to help my son. And I don't know if he's old enough for Motrin, but sometimes alternating the Tylenol and Motrin give better relief. I'll be thinking about you. Hope both of you get some relief soon.
