Honestly, Chris, I've never had a vacation that was bad. I've always had great luck with weather, and everything, and I've been to a lot of different places.
I'd like to hear other people's stories, though. Do tell!!

I haven't had a bad vacation, but I went a cruise once when i had a cold and was violently seasick that first night. That's not an enjoyable combo. I was better the following morning though!

Nope, never had a bad one yet. Stuff happens and you just have to roll with the punches as much as possible.

Haven't had a bad one yet either, but there was one time when we were in Niagara Falls several years ago when I was sick our first night there. I was fine the rest of the trip though.

Chandy -
YES! That counts - probably double!
I had two really bad ones (well, more, but those would be rated at least "R", so nevermind).
One was a camping (ACCCCKKKKKK) trip where I woke up in a sleeping bag and my eyes were completely glued shut. I had to hike to a "bathroom" (that term is being used VERY loosely), pretty much blind, where I scared an old lady while standing in line. She fled and yelled that something was really wrong with me. I finally cracked my eyelids open enough to see (when I got to a mirror) that my whole face was deformed from multiple mosiquito bites (I'm allergic, so it was REALLY BAD). I looked like the Elephant Man. No exaggeration. That was my very last camping trip. I spent the rest of the trip hiding in a tent and casting spells on the guy who insisted on what a great vacation this would be. I still have nightmares about it and I have a deep-seated fear of mosquitoes. Oh yes, there was a hummingbird-sort of insect that kept trying to burrow it's long sharp beak in my head everytime I tried to hike to the bathroom.
Needless to say, I held it until I got home (one week later). I didn't think it was possible, but it can be done (although with possible damage to one's kidneys, but it's a small price to pay to not have a giant insect imbed it's snout in your head to lay eggs.)
After that, I don't remember what the second one was. But it couldn't have been too awful after reading what I just wrote.

I will join you, Trixie and agree that camping is evil! I spent a few weeks camping through Europe which sounds fabulous but totally sucks. It's really hard to find the bathroom in the dark while blindingly drunk ;D I am not a nature person. Give me a bug-free hotel room with a jacuzzi and room service anyday

Chandy -
Blindingly drunk is the only way I'd find myself camping ever again. Naw, not even stinking drunk would I ever camp again.
I'm with you, give me a hotel room with a king-sized bed, a jacuzzi, and a mini-bar and I'm a very happy camper.
Lack of room service would really constitute "roughing it".

Although "roughing it" in a hotel room might be kind of fun

Well, yes it could. Especially if it involves handcuffs and a police hat. But little else. Oops, this almost describes one of my other "bad" vacations. So never mind.

Okay Trixie, that sounds like a nightmare. I'm not a big camping person either. REALLY ROUGHING IT for me would be camping in an rv with air conditioning and a working bathroom. That's about as rough as I want to get, if that.
