Or just tan nicely? Has anyone gotten a killer sunburn this summer?

No, but I don't really tan nicely. I turn an odd shade of orange, like I used to much self-tanner. SPF is my friend in the summer.

I sunburn very easily. I am pale and try to stay that way by avoiding the sun as much as possible.

I have one shade year round - white I don't get it. When I was a kid I tanned really dark. Did I use up all my melanin?

Oh, I used to tan to a lovely golden brown. KFC would've been jealous. I spent years baking myself until now Karma has come back and said if I ever broil myself again, I will be the poster child for Dermatologists everywhere.
So, like Lavery and Chandy, I am now a vampire. My skin only sees the sun through double-paned windows. And even then I smear on number 32 suncreen.
My colors are Veinish Blue and Pasty White.
I don't wear shorts anymore as I don't want to cause unnecessary blindness.
I'm starting to visually get better acquainted with my circulatory system. It's interesting, although not terribly attractive.

I am actually allergic to the sun! It is some yey long term that ends in photo sensitivity. It basically means I don't along with ultraviolet light, real or artificial. Exposure for any length of time results in red, splotches, that itch like hell. Sometimes there is blistering, and swelling. I keep my sun screen with me year round. Funny thing is that until I was 12, I did not have this problem. I like Trixie, have become a vampire. I work the graveyard shift, and when people ask why (and they DO ask), I tell them I am allergic to the sun! They usually leave me alone after that!

Wow Barbara, that would suck! I'm so sorry! But it sounds like you have figured out a way to get around that.
I have a lot of native american in me which makes me tak easily. Thankfully I was blessed ewith that since my physical downfalls could be one big long list. But I've only sunburned a handful of times in my life and all but once it just turned into a tan by the next day. One time when I was young I tested fate though and actually had to use aloe and peeled - the whole nine yards. It was AWFUL. I don't ever want to do that again.

To all my fellow pale faces, say it with me, "We're Dracula's B*tches and we're proud!" ;D

Oh I always burn even with sunscreen. But it turns to tan the next day or so depending on how bad it is. I try to not burn and keep applying the sunscreen. This summer it was just too hot to sit out and I'm too antsy anyway. I usually only tan when I am near a pool or on vacation.
