Just to let you know, some eye-sighted challanged people keep carding me at the SAME STORE THAT I 'VE BEEN GOING TO THREE TIMES A WEEK FOR THE LAST TEN YEARS. Hey, I don't mind, but this clerk today said "I don't know you and I have to see your ID because you look under forty." I told her my shoes were older than that, but okay, I consider the request for ID a compliment. The woman in front of me was laughing, the people behind me were laughing and the clerk was laughing. So what were they laughing at - my shoes? (They were pretty disgusting, by the way as it was raining and I won't wear my good shoes when it rains). Or the fact that EVERYONE COULD TELL I AM WELL OVER FORTY-YEARS-OLD? Anyway, I show my ID, everyone in line KNOWS I'm over forty and the clerk announces "Wow! You're Fifty??" I don't mind being considered younger than what I am, but I'm a little weirded out about this whole "If you look younger than Forty, be prepared to show ID thing. So what's next? If you're alive, be prepared to show ID? If you look under Ninety? It is very strange that at the age of Fifty I still have to show my ID. And I DEFINITELY don't look under 21. Unless I'm having some sort of fantasy involving Johnny Depp from twenty plus years ago. Anyway - I don't know why I posted this, but perhaps the rest of you can feel good since you're much younger and someone might mistake you for a ten-year-old.

First of all, how rude to announce your age. Not just yours but anyones. I wouldn't want a clerk to annouce my age in public. There are some things a girl can kep all to herself and age and weight are a couple of them. This reminds me to tell you that my mom was asked out by a 27 year old. And he was serious. Apparently he had a pretty big thing for my mom and she respectfully declined, although i think she felt a little honored. I guess he doesn't mind that she has children older than him. ;D ;D

Alright, Trixie - and Plat's mom! I actually get carded all the time b/c I have a baby face. Up until a coupla years ago I always got 'what high school do you go to'? I'm 29yo. That made life real interesting as a new nurse. I always got 'but you look 16'. I always wanted my smartass response to be, yep that's me, Doogie Howser RN. Now let me give you this shot

Platinum - Good for your mom! See what you have to look forward to And Chandy - If you're twenty-nine, you might as well be sixteen. You may not realize it now, but someday you'll be glad. But, professionally, I know it kind of stinks. Just hang in there.
