Thanks, Lori! That handwriting on the wall was the most those AMC assholes had written for Jonathan in a long time. And because it was from those dumbasses I'll bet it was poorly written and Zendull was mentioned.

I know, it's water under the bridge...But, I still wish Jon had been written off in a much better way. With or with out Lily/Ava, Jonathan was a front burner character, for what 3 1/ 2-4 years?---The actor, and his fans, got totally ripped off. Lori

I almost feel like I've gone through the stages of grieving with this one. I was in denial at first, totally pissed about it for a long time, and mostly I'm just sad - for Jeff in particular. It's obvious he feels bad about the whole thing. He has absolutely nothing to apologize for. He gave us nearly 4 years of stellar work and it's not his fault they didn't write him an exit. He got a slap in the face (along with the fans) for all his dedication and talent. AMC is dead to me - DEAD

Beth, from what I saw of an old SOAP TALK interview, he said he always went full out, in the role--He made that decision earlier on--Especially, since initially, he wasn't under a 'perminant' contract back then...He mentioned this in reference to the Jonathan and Maggie abuse story line. Then, after the cave scenes, he got asked back. Between the weeks Jon "died" in the cave in and Ryan finding him with Erin, Jeff took some time and did some actual research, talking with a neurologist about what the physical impact of neurological trauma would look like... If you recall, (and I know you do ) when Jon was first seen in NS after the brain surgery, he not only had a hesitation in speech, but an impared gate ( a limp, of sorts). Speaking as a person with a physical disability, depending on what the limitation is, you work as hard as you can, to make the most of what you do have. But, you still move in a certain way--It can't be helped... I vividly recall, how the actor moved. I don't know how he did it. But, he nailed it! I was like, How did he figure that out?!-- Dang!In reality, the overwhelming majority of soap actors don't have the time to think about that kind of detail... It's just not possible. While Jon's physical imparments ameliorated over a brief time (It is a soap afterall. ) I was, by that point, a big fan of the actor. ---Heck, Hockett could have blown up Pine Valley City Hall--and it wouldn't have made a bit of difference. Hey Lori That was one of the things that made me appreciate Jeff's talent as above and beyond - all the nonverbal nuances he brought to the role. It just speaks volumes. Anyone can speak the lines, but to actually embody the role takes megatalent, IMO. I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed. I think I saw that interview. I've heard it said that he is a method actor - hence going to the neurological institute. I remember NS very well, and all the dedication and research he put in the role showed And yeah, Hocket can do no wrong for me

Good Evening, Beth! At this point, I'm hoping some major movie roles (I'd settle for prime time tv, without any hesitation, as well) will be coming his way. Plays are great. But, I think, NYC is the place to be to see that sort of thing--Considering I live in California, the geography would be a bit of a problem. Lori

That is a problem geographically. NYC is a big stage town. I'm a little surprised, although I guess I shouldn't be, about how many other things shoot in NYC, too. I was there recently, and they were filming a movie on the corner of the street my hotel was on. It was kinda neat to watch.

While visiting relatives, back in Nov. 1995, my parents and I happened to be checking out a historical district in Orange County CA...Production designers for the movie That Thing You Do! (Tom Hanks, Liv Tyler,Tom Everett Scott) were busy transforming some empty and functioning storefronts in to Erie Penn. during the early 1960's...If you've seen the movie, think the lunch counter scene and "Guy Patterson's" dad's appliance store. They didn't really chance the Woolworth's much though.
The scene in the movie, where "The Wonders" hear their song on the radio for the first time, was supposed to occur in spring--So, there were guys gluing fake green leaves, on bare trees, over the Thanksgiving weekend. LOL!

Sorry, I just spotted your post, Beth-- Yeah, me too... Actually, it runs a very close second to One Fine Day. (George Clooney & Michelle Pffifer had a boat load of chemstry ) )These were my favorite movies of 1996. Lori

They really do Kinda like Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. I really liked One Fine Day. I'm surprised it wasn't more popular.
