LOL Yeah I guess...but I kind of have a thing for other people getting credit for my work. It bugs me. that stuff took a lot of effort. I would label my notes by teacher, by class, by week (1st, 2nd and so on not by date because most teachers did the same exact thing year after year.) so the person getting them would know in advance what was going to be covered as well as upcoming assignments. I kept REALLY good notes. I figured that I might as well earn something from them. It wasn't like I was selling old tests or essays or anything.Of course...if you are going to sell your notes you shouldn't include anything personal in it. ;D

LOL Well to each their own. I don't think anyone would need my notes anyway. I doubt I could get money for them. LOL.

MInkie , couldn`t find that thread about your comments on the other board so thought I would respond here . Can`t remember eactly what you said but I remember being impressed that you didn`t concede the point but remained very civil . The other person would not let it go & said the same thing 8 different ways . It was v funny! That board can be quite opinionated anyway .
Minkie *what on earth is she talking about?*

LOL Oh you mean on NB? Not that I know which argument it was. Probably with Phoenix/ Mirandasrights. I fight with her all the time. hahaha. But thanks sweetie!
Yeah I kind of got bored with NB and stopped posting there. My tolerance for that stuff has rapidly dwindled.

Real life random thought: I went to this chinese latern festival over the weekend, which was really really awesome, but noticed the signs were in english and chinese (cantonese, I think, but what do I know). That's all well and good, and then I noticed it had the same punctuation. Ever wonder how we can have so many different languages and alphabets, but everyone has manged to agree on punctuation? Why couldn't we agree on one language then? Ah the mysteries of life...LMAO. Oh yeah, I saw the LOTR play on Saturday. It was average, the movie is definitly better.

I didn't know that about the punctuatuin but that's a good point. I'd always had the same thought about numbers. We seem to agree on those so why not a universal language?

there is no puncuation in Hebrew. A lot of languages had it tacked on later because the idea of it was introduced and then the language was altered to fit it in

That makes sense... Hebrew today does have punctuation, but I think it's a modern add-on to the original language like you said.
I just found that really interesting. I wonder who even came up with that system anyway...it certainly worked!

sorry, I meant originally about hebrew. Neither cuniform nor any picto-based language (think ancient sumerian, egyptian, etc) has it either. Nor early asian languages. Not sure when it popped up

Oh, sorry, I thought you meant now. My mistake. But yeah I think you are right.
But its so interesting to me....everyone managed to agree on a system like that! If only we could pick one language! LOL.

oh and not everyone uses the same number system we do, just the people who speak the European languages for the most part

not everyone writes one=1. but most cultures do have the same concept of "one" + "one" = "two" but not all, especially pre-literate ones
