If you look under the GL section, both Lifetime and Oxygen are in talks about taking GL to cable!

I think Lifetime's been publicly denying they will pick them up. I really hope GL gets picked up by someone - if for nothing else the actors' sakes.

Good Morning, Beth! Yeah. I saw something about that over at SOC. So I went over to Lifetime...I tried to find an official statement, but I may have missed it. I'll say this, if avitars are any indication, there are a lot of Otalia fans, a few Bizzies and one or two Shaynah fans (apparently myself and JeffBransonFan) over there. The one thing I've learned from this is, even if a soap is set to be cancelled, the fans hang pretty tough...I still think, soap watchers are like (some) sports fans...Come rain or shine, "It ain't over, til it's over." But, in all seriousness, ia. It's got to be hard on the actors...especially considering current economic times. Lori

Official word from Lifetime: Statement from Lifetime regarding "Guiding Light" Hello Guiding Light fans! "I’m Rebecca Cooper, Lifetime’s Community Manager. I have also been a GL fan for years and have enjoyed seeing all of you come to create such a vibrant community for GL fans to gather and chat about the characters, episodes, and storylines of the show. Rest assured that we have heard you and have taken your feedback on our site very seriously. We made sure that the head of Programming at Lifetime Networks, JoAnn Alfano, was aware of your campaign and community that you’ve built on myLifetime.com. Here is what she had to say: “Guiding Light is a television institution; it was my mother’s favorite show and was always on in our house when I was a kid. I am sorry to say, though, that Lifetime will not be adding daytime serials to its schedule.” While we understand that this is disappointing news since we, too, are fans, we want to offer you a home to talk about Guiding Light for as long as you would like to congregate here. Lifetime continues to offer innovative programming and we hope that, while there is no replacement for “Guiding Light”, that you can still feel as though this is a place to share with your friends that you’ve made through this show. Thank you!" So much for Lifetime.

Thanks, Brandon...that was the statement I saw. I'm not very hopeful for soapnet, either Oddly enough, Oxygen would seem more likely.

Beth, you've got me curious...Why would Oxygen, be more likely? (Aside from Lifetime turning it down)

Nothing concrete....Lifetime just feels more like a hallmark channel and not one that would necessarily carry soaps. Oxygen is aimed at women, but their programing seems more diverse. There's Oprah and reality shows and sitcoms, etc.
