Wasn't a big fan of his (especially in recent years), but holy crap. I guess death does come in 3s.

Unbelievable. Just unbelievable. He's had such a strange sad life. Personally after seeing some clips of him on the news now, I am in shock that Elizabeth Taylor has apparently out lived him. This was really unexpected.
Wow, that makes 3 that have passed away in less than a week. Ed, Farrah and now Michael.

And me to that as well. Not a big fan. My coworker came in and said, "Did you hear that Michael Jackson died. And I seriously thought she was about to tell a Michael Jackson joke. I thought she was setting me up for a punchline.

Add me to that list. Hadn't been a big fan of his in recent years, but back in the 80's I was a big fan. First album I ever bought (yes, I said album ) was "Thriller". Whatever problems he had in his life, I hope he's at peace now.

Beth, I enjoyed a lot of his earlier songs too but I never owned any of his albums---and I was never a fan of his. I always thought he was a weirdo---and he just got weirder. And I feel bad for thinking he's a child molester because I have no evidence that he is. It's just something I strongly suspect is true.
My favorite comment I've read so far was this one on the Guardian website:
'That's the news sorted for the next couple of weeks then.'

I totally see your point, Amy. I really hope he didn't do those things, but the evidence is against him. And unfortunately, I think he probably did also. It's too bad, too b/c he was so talented and that is what his life came to.

I agree---and while it in no way excuses the things I suspect he did with all those boys I do feel bad how his parents pimped him out as a child for fame and money. I feel the same way about B. Spears parents---don't pimp your kids out! If your kid is really talented they can make a go of it when they are an adult!!!

Hi, Everybody! I'd bet Joe Jackson had a lot to do with why Michael had such excentric/strange tendencies (and I'm not even referring to the abuse charges). From what I've seen in documentaries, "Daddy Dearest" ruled with an iron fist--and his children had virtually no childhood. Lori

His family effed him up - no doubt!

I completely agree with you Lori. There is a reason why Joe is living by himself in Las Vegas and the rest of his family is pretty much gathered together. I found it disgusting how he used his son's death to get attention for his new record label or whatever the hell it was he was promoting at the BET awards.

Hey, Niki! Thanks for the 411. I didn't know Joe Jackson lived in Nevada...away from the rest of the family. Since, from what I've read Michael's mom is quite a devote JW, I assumed they'd never divorce. (And that doesn't even factor in money issues, if they actually did) Somehow if he lives apart from the rest of the family that makes me feel a little better...I wondered what kind of impact he'd have on MJ's 3 kids, since they are currently with her. I din't see the BET awards, but I did see mention of it on either ET or Access Hollywood. So, I was aware it turned in to an (early) MJ tribute... Niki-- The dad pushed his own agenda (a new record lable, etc.)at an event that turned out to be a tribute to his son?! ---That's what I'd call cold. Lori
