Ok, I have been busy lately, and I don't know if I missed reading it here or not, but I just found out that AMC will be relocating to LA by the beginning of the year. The casino is all abuzz about it. Why in the hell would TIIC make such a move? I wonder how many actors will be willing to move across the country to the west coast.

Hey, Barbara! One word: Money. From what I gather, AMC will save money by building 'permanent' sets that don't have to be changed every day. or so. Thus saving labor/ construction costs are reduced. But, other than that who knows? To make things more interesting, OLTL is supposedly moving in where AMC was. Evidentially, the move, for them, is touted as a positive, since the stage and facilities offer more space. It is troubling news isn't it? I haven't seen any official articles about it. I read about it yesterday over at the Pine Valley Pod Cast (blog). My first thoughts were Will Susan Lucci want to move? Will TK, remain behind, considering Susan Haskel is on OLTL--- and what about Cameron & Alisha? On the plus side if you are a Rebecca Budig fan, this does seem to fuel the rumors of 'Greenlee's return'? What about the little ones: Lucy Merriam and the tots playing "Spike"? This comes on the heels of GL winding down...IMHO, in a lot of ways, (((whispering))) It's better written than AMC. And it goes w/o saying they have JB...Plus, GT is really good! those two keep up with each other step for step. Honestly,I have had a heck of a good time watching GL. I don't really keep up with all of the characters. I really enjoy the Lewis Clan, especially Shaynah of course. So all of this makes me wonder about the future of Daytime in general. I just don't know. Lori

This morning on "Live: With Regis & Kelly", Susan Lucci made an appearance. She gives the situation a good spin. Basically, she said that the move, is a sign of faith that tptb have in the show. (Yeah, right!) That it will be a good thing giving the show a bigger studio etc.
According to what she said, the cast only found out about the move a day or so ago. She said some won't be going (the kids and the actress playing "Marion", I suspect--considering she's off to Oak Haven, in today's eppy)
If you want to see the entire interview, I suggest going to the "Regis & Kelly" site. Or, maybe someone will post it on youtube.

I was just coming here to post about this too. I read that Cameron is for sure moving. And MCE. Anyone hear of any other "for sures?" What about Alicia (now that she's pregnant). Losing the little girl who plays Emma will be rough. That girl is one of the best actors on the show! ha ha!
And aren't they able to film in high def once they move too? I read that was another contributing factor.

I read that Bobbie Eakes said on FB that she was moving, too. I'm not so sure about LaLucci, though.

Hmm, so that's three. Susan kind of made it sound like there were some veterans that wouldn't be moving. I wonder who? If DC doesn't move, I'll be heart broken. When do they have to decide?

They only gave them 7 days. I saw that announcement on Sunday, so I guess we'll know this weekend. I kinda get the feeling DC won't go - at least not on a regular basis. Long before I joined this board my mom was friends with someone who used to run his fanclub. Her friend still talks to DC occasionally. I got the picture he was considering retirement not too long ago, but I'm not for certain

That would really make me sad. Also, AMC would NOT be the same without MEK. What if he doesn't move?

Ugh, I know. I thought about that. Even though I haven't watched it since Jeff left, it's sad to think that all those people would be gone. Quite frankly, if DC, SL and MEK don't go, I'd almost rather see it cancelled (although God knows, I don't want any more people to be out of work). Then there would be absolutely nothing left that makes it AMC.

I really hope they don't have all those actors go through the aggrivation and expense of moving to LA only to cancel the show a year later. That would be really sucky. But I know what you're saying Beth about how if those veterans are not on the show then that would be pretty sucky too.

According to the Pine Valley Pod Cast Adam Mayfield ("Scott Chandler") is set to make the move back to LA, but that doesn't seem to be a big whoop...He's from there, anyway.

I'm liking him more and more. I can't tell if they are trying to pair him with Marissa, with Annie or if the writers aren't even sure yet. I'd like to see him with Annie personally.

I think, the writers were seriously trying Marissa and Scott out as a couple. But, now, I think, they're giving JR and Marissa a shot. And after those scenes, the other day, with Annie and Scott--- Who wouldn't remember those two together?! ;D

Yeah, they are pretty hot together!
I am not warming up to the actress that plays Marissa. Something about her I just can't get into.
Have the actors announced their decisions yet?
