www.soapcentral.com/soapcentral/new...y_coverage2.phpThe second winner in the category, a nervous Branson, thanked his Guiding Light family. "This is so bittersweet. I know that you don't get to work with a family like I had on Guiding Light," Branson remarked. "This is a big part of Kim Zimmer, of Robert Newman and Bradley Cole and Gina Tognoni." Though experts, including our own soapcentral.com Emmy panel, pegged Branson as a front runner in the category, Branson tried to remove himself from all of the phone calls that said he was a shoo-in. "I'm not going to lie. I wanted to win this baby. I wanted to win it," Branson admitted. "At the end of the day -- and I mean this with all of my heart -- to be nominated, to have the opportunity to be standing up there with that talent recognized by my peers for this... Not to sound cheesy, but that's the honor." As for what's next for Branson, the actor played coy and said that he would have something to announce soon. He revealed that he will move from New York to Los Angeles and also declined to rule out a return to daytime television. There have been rumblings that The Young and the Restless might be considering Branson for a role.

It sounds as though he has other projectes in the works. Awesome! I can't wait to see what he announces. And he sooooo deserved the Emmy. He's done fantastic in every role I've seen him in, even the brief blink-and-you-miss-him stuff. Though I have to say I kind of hope GL is his last soap. I'd love to see him exclusively on primetime and/or films and soaps seem to be dying out unfortunately. But if he goes to Y&R I'll still follow!

Niki, I agree with you about wanting him to get a shot a primetime and movies. But if he's gotta do another soap at least it's one of the better ones. At least that's the impression I've gotten from people who watch it. And if JB ends up on it I'll be one of those people.

If he goes to Y&R I'd be thrilled, but I agree with you guys about wanting him to do primetime and/or movies. Either way, I can't wait to hear what he has lined up!!!!

I would certainly follow him to another soap/show. Y&R would be great. Someone did tell me that they have ALOT of characters. I hope he wouldn't get lost in the shuffle.
It wasn't that long ago that there were rumors of him going back to AMC. Anyone else think that's possible? I admit, there is a small selfish part of me that wants that (especially if TK and AM stay in NY), but there's a larger part that doesn't want that b/c of the shitty way they did him.
Either way, wherever he ends up, I'll be extremely happy for him!

Beth, you took the words out of my mouth. I'd love to see him go back to AMC but I loath those a-holes for the way they treated him. I guess the upside of Y&R or AMC is that they shoot in LA and that is where most primetime shows and movies are made so. I know he loves NYC but I think moving to LA will give him more opportunities for work and that means we get to see more of him.

I say whatever furthers his career and makes him happy is okay be me. And seeing more of hime, I guess we'll just have to suffer through that

I'd like him to come back to AMC just because I don't want to try to follow another soap. I don't have the time!

;D Chris, that makes sense. Maybe we could find a way to combine the two soaps into one big soapy, sudsy mess! All My Young and Restless Children.

I agree Chris. Following more than one soap was a bit much for me. My schedule is too crazy. Besides, part of me will always want Jeff as Jonathan. I love the Lavery family!!

"...even the brief blink-and-you-miss-him stuff.... " Niki, are you talking about, Without A Trace? I remember setting my vcr and letting it run, since I went to a friend's house that evening. I had to hunt for the scene. I guess, no matter how popular an actor is in daytime, in primetime they still have to 'work their way up'---Now that he's won an Emmy, it has to make at least some difference. I sort of keep up with Y&R--Especially, now, if Jeff shows up. I hate to say it, Cam or not, if AMC keeps being a snooooooze fest , that show may have to take a back seat...If AM leaves, I can only hope "Ryan" gets one heck of a love interest That could really up CM's game as an actor. I guess, I'm hoping, once the Move to LA is complete, circumstances will improve--Or, Cam starts hosting on HGTV, then I'll learn everything there is to know about shabby chic, or whatever... ;D

Lori, I think I got that pic from Cuteoverload. The tag on the photo says his name is Pablo. Isn't he just the cutest? And I agree with you that Jeff's Emmy win certainly can't hurt him in his quest for primetime work.
