I may be in the minority but...I kind of like that Jason didn't get to say goodbye. It means for the first time in a while, Jason has a storyline that ISN'T about how perfect he is. He wasn't a good son to Alan and now he sees the consequences of it. Finally. Yeah, I agree, Minkie. I don't hate it that it happened this way. Jason has been so far propped it's ridiculous. And the writers were head on with him chasing the "bad guy" and being the "hero" rather than sit and wait to talk to his critically ill father. Plus, it might make him have a story outside of the Liz/Sam/Sonny/Carly crap. Hell, maybe it will give Jason a whole other s/l (which I'm sure is the intended pupose)

I honestly feel bad for Alan. But no one really made Jason leave to go after Craig when his father was dying in the hospital. And I've never seen him actually TRY to get to know the Q's, other than maybe Emily. So it makes it that much more poignant and if Jason feels regret about it now well, maybe he'll learn from this and not take his family for granted so much.

it will be interesting to see where he goes from here.
i was watching some bloopers from when he had michael - steve looked very young!!!! but to see him cracking up at michael (baby didn't want to do what the directors wanted him to do) his whole face lit up!! went from being jason to this shiny eyed goofy actor. i'd love to see jason have a little steve in him!!

I hear Steve is a prankster behind the scenes, he plays tricks on his fellow castmates. LOL. Jason may not have a sense of humour but I think Steve does!

yeah - that's what you could tell from the blooper show (only thing on at 4am) - his was a longer one cause michael was being impossible. steve was hysterical. i actually woke kallie up cause i was laughing. i thought of you, minkie and meg right away. just a little bit of that into jason would be nice. he has showed humor a bit with spinelli (no clue how to spell) but that's about it.

look at this quote from SID from Steve Burton (Jason): "I was in shock when I heard. That one caught me really by surprise. I was deeply saddened. People don't know but Stuart was one of my biggest advocates. He would always say to people when I was Jason Quartermaine, 'Man, you've got to give this kid more to do. You've got to help him out.' He would say that publicly to people like the vice president of Daytime at the time and the writers. I've always wanted to pay him back for that somehow. I really appreciate everything he's done for me.. The Quartermaine's were a big part of my life when I first got on the show. It was a great part of my life, because I had great stuff with Leslie Charleson and Stuart. It just hurts. It's kind of like a piece of me is...You know, when a good friend like that leaves the show, even though I don't work with him a lot, there's still that emotional connection that you have. I get emotional just talking about it. Right now, I try not to think about it until the day he goes. Stuart is a guy that loves to act. That's what he's going to miss most..the people and just coming to work. I've known the guy for so long and I don't even know what to say. What can you say? I do want to thank Stuart for being an advocate of mine from day one and for supporting me, not only privately but also publicly to the powers that be. We've been through a lot of things in our lives that are similar, and I just really appreciate him being there for me. I thank him for everything he's done . I love him." Oh wow! Thanks for sharing that. I've always had a mini grudge against Steve B for avoiding love scenes and reisiting taking his shirt off. I can't do that anymore. As for Alan, I think that it would have been very difficult for the actors and the viewers watch Alan die on screen. It might have been better for the ratings but GH is very close knit cast and it is possible that TPTB might have felt like they were expoiting the actor's real grief for a plot device. It sounds as if many of them were/are having a hard enough time letting go and are more than a little resentful. Wasn't there a rumor going around that they had to shut down filming for the day once the news got out because everyone was too upset to work?
