One of the mags just reported it....the show offered to put her on recurring status, she said no and is quitting AMC.
She's right to do so, I think, but what a loss for AMC.

I think she should run like the wind and catch up with Dr. David. Maybe they could write a great exit story for the two of them together. I'd like to see their last scene with both of them doing this . AMC is really becoming ridiculous. Strike that. It's become unbearable. I wish it were unBabeable. Butt! No such luck. I kept hoping Julia would get a story. I kept hoping that David would get a story. I kept hoping Brooke and David would get a story together. The only time we see them is with Jamie and Babe. That's like Meryl Streep and Robert Di Nero acting against Barney the Dinasaur, and Betty Boop. Although Betty had more self-control. And Barney at least looks somewhat embarrassed.

SOD Breaking News Julia Barr Exiting ALL MY CHILDREN30 years after joining the Pine Valley ranks, two-time Daytime Emmy winner Julia Barr is leaving ALL MY CHILDREN when her contract expires in December. The actress opted to leave rather than accept the show's offer to remain as a recurring player. She said in a statement, "It has been a wonderful job for me on every level, and a great ensemble of actors with whom I had the pleasure to work. I am so proud to have been a part of a show that was once a television icon. I want the fans to know how much I truly appreciate all of their love, support, loyalty and enthusiasm over the years." As for her future plans, she added, "There are a few things I am considering and a whole new chapter ahead, which I am looking forward to."

She's another class act. I hope she finds something that kicks butt and takes names later. I'm afraid this show is turning into the Josh, Cobly and Sean and Adam Without Testicles Hour.
I'm planning on swimming to Alcatraz while this is going on. And I don't even know how to swim. But I think I'll have a better time.
I can't believe it's been 30 years. Wow. Time certainly flies. Or smushes your face into unrecognizable pieces. That is in my case. Not Julia Barr's. She's still lovely.

I'm sorry to see her go but I can't say I blame her. TPTB all have the collective IQ of 20 (and I'm being generous).
Oh, and I loved that line "WAS ONCE a television icon". ;D

it almost sounds like she is complimenting AMC... unless you look at it very closely!
